No need to aim for all indicators. Aim for three, and only then does it start to become clear.
NewsBurst Operational Records
Aimed for three indicators.
It didn’t move, it escaped, and ISM secured profits
October 1.
On this day, NewsBurst targeted three economic indicators.
3:30 PM.
Swiss Consumer Price Index.
9:30 PM.
U.S. Initial Jobless Claims.
11 PM.
US ISM Manufacturing PMI.
The results were quite mixed.
Indicators that hardly moved.
Indicators that moved but ended early due to timeout.
And indicators that captured the initial move well.
Seeing this kind of result,
which indicators to target.
There is more material to consider now.
NewsBurst is automated up to entry
Before that, one strong note about NewsBurst.
NewsBurst is,
only informs you of the indicator times.
Only helps you place orders.
It is not such a tool.
Entry is automated.
Humans beforehand decide
which indicators to target.
which currency pairs to trade.
what Lot size to use.
how to set Entry distance.
how to set TP and SL.
These strategies are decided.
Then, as the indicator times approach, the EA automatically prepares orders.
Above the current priceBuy Stop
Below the current priceSell Stop
If price moves at the indicator release, orders in that direction are filled as is.
If one side gets filled, the unfilled order on the opposite side is deleted by the EA.
There is no need for a human to click at the moment of release.
Decision is human. Execution is the EA.
This time too, we targeted three indicators with this mechanism.
First, Swiss Consumer Price Index
The first time was 15:30 Japan time.
Swiss CPI.
Currency pair was USDCHF.
This time we entered with BUY.
USDCHF BUY
0.10 lots
Entry 0.83726
Exit 0.83701
Profit/Loss -473
The price range was about -2.5 pips.
You can tell from the chart.
It really didn’t move.
Just because it’s an economic indicator doesn’t mean it jumps every time.
This time’s Swiss CPI, in the sense of wanting to target NewsBurst,
the big move right after the release
was quite disappointing.
Of course, this is just one instance,
I don’t intend to decide that “Swiss CPI is unusable.”
But it does provide material for validation.
Swiss CPI: how often does it move significantly?
How much does it move on average?
Considering the spread, is it worth targeting?
Is it worth prioritizing over other indicators?
If similar results continue in the future,
I might decide not to target it at all.
That kind of judgment becomes possible.
Next: U.S. Initial Jobless Claims
21:30.
U.S. Initial Jobless Claims.
Currency pair USDJPY.
This time, SELL.
USDJPY SELL
0.10 lots
Entry 157.961
Exit 157.957
Profit +40
In terms of pips, about +0.4 pips.
Almost at breakeven.
What stood out in this trade was,
the safety mechanism timeout might have been a bit early.
Entered SELL after the indicator release.
But it didn’t immediately drop significantly.
Then NewsBurst’s timeout function kicked in and closed the position.
The result was essentially breakeven.
Could have held a bit more, but is that okay
When I later looked at the chart,
I thought, “If only I had waited a bit more.”
In reality, after entry there was about 7 pips of potential, and then price moved up.
But NewsBurst is not about ordinary day trading.
Holding for tens of minutes or hours to slowly milk profit.
That is not the kind of trade here.
The idea is to capture the big initial move right after the release.
If you can’t, don’t hold on long.
This is how it’s supposed to work.
Move.
Ride it.
Take profits.
End.
If the momentum isn’t there, you should cut quickly.
This time ended near breakeven.
It’s okay to have cut early like this.Should we continue targeting Nonfarm Payrolls?
From these results, another question arises,
whether we should actively target U.S. Initial Jobless Claims with NewsBurst at all.
Do they always produce a sufficient initial move?
Even if they move, are they often small?
Is Entry distance appropriate?
Should timeout be longer?
Or should we de-prioritize this indicator itself?
Not sure yet.
So this too is subject to analysis.
Finally, ISM Manufacturing PMI at 23:00
And at 23:00.
U.S. ISM Manufacturing PMI.
This one did move significantly.
USDJPY BUY
0.10 lots
Entry 157.966
Exit 158.076
About 11.0 pips
Profit +1,100
This movement is quite close to the move NewsBurst is aiming for.
Announcement.
EA has already prepared orders.
Price moves up.
BUY is automatically filled.
It then streams upward.
Take profit.
This is how it unfolds.
It wasn’t that we chased after the move after it happened.
We prepare before the move and automatically enter in the direction of movement.
About 11 pips this time
Lot size is 0.10 again.
Profit +1,100.
In absolute terms, not a large amount.
But now,
what matters is how many pips of price movement was captured by which indicator, not how much money earned.
This time, about 11 pips.
This was captured reliably.
Of course, increasing the lot size increases profit for the same price movement.
But the reverse is true as well.
Increasing lots also increases losses.
So first,
is this indicator truly worth targeting.
How much price movement can be expected.
Under what conditions is it more likely to fail.
Solidify that.
Three in a row is quite clear
Listing the three trades from October 1.
Swiss CPI
Hardly moved. About -2.5 pips.
U.S. Initial Jobless Claims
No big initial move; timeout. Breakeven range.
US ISM Manufacturing PMI
Moved up solidly. About +11.0 pips.
Still using the same NewsBurst.
But the results are completely different.
Having built the EA isn’t enough.
Even if NewsBurst orders accurately, you won’t profit if the indicator doesn’t move in the first place.
Therefore,
what to target.
This is crucial.
You don’t need to target every indicator
NewsBurst allows adding multiple economic indicators to the Trade Plan.
But,
just because you can register them doesn’t mean you should trade all of them.
That’s not the intended use.
Actually run it.
Look at the results.
Record them.
Compare them.
And,
discard the ones that don’t move.
discard those with small price moves.
discard those with poor conditions.
Keep only indicators with good synergy.
In trading, 90% is about “discarding.”
As you operate in real conditions, the meaning becomes much more concrete.
No need to take every single indicator.
You are validating to decide which indicators to skip.
That might be a fair way to put it.
It’s meaningless to list only winning ISMs
If you’re marketing a product,
11 pips on ISM.
Just showing this image looks impressive.
But that defeats the purpose of building NewsBurst.
Swiss CPI didn’t move.
Initial Jobless Claims didn’t show a big initial move this time.
These are also important results.
Rather,
deciding what to discard.
What to keep.
These subtle results can be more useful at times.
So going forward,
winning trades.
losing trades.
nearly stagnant trades.
timeout trades.
All will be shown.
I want the Phase 0 members to think about this together
Currently, NewsBurst is recruiting Phase 0 development collaborators.
This is not just a cheap EA giveaway.
After seeing results like today,
whether to keep Swiss CPI.
whether to keep Initial Jobless Claims.
what timeout in seconds is good.
whether to continue prioritizing ISM.
how to set Entry distance.
how to set TP.
We want you to think about these together.
An environment to validate economic indicator trading.
We want to grow NewsBurst to that extent.
Phase 0 2,000 yen is not a permanent price
NewsBurst includes,
- Plan Builder to organize weekly indicators.
- Creation of Trade Plans.
- Plan saving to MT5.
- Automatic orders before releases.
- Buy Stop and Sell Stop.
- Automatic entry.
- Delete opposite order after one side fills.
- TP.
- SL.
- Timeout.
- Notification features.
These mechanisms are included.
And now,
which indicators to keep.
which conditions are favorable.
We are validating these aspects in actual markets.
Honestly,
This is not a product to be sold forever at 2,000 yen.
The price is this now because this is Phase 0.
It’s not about selling a finished product at the regular price.
Use it together.
Find problems.
Share the results.
Improve it together.
That kind of collaboration is what this price is for.
In conclusion
On October 1, we targeted three indicators.
Not all of them won.
One hardly moved.
One ended near breakeven due to timeout.
One captured about 11 pips.
A very realistic result.
But that’s what makes it interesting.
Will we continue targeting Swiss CPI?
How will we handle Initial Jobless Claims?
What about timeouts?
How will ISM be prioritized?
Today alone raised more questions to explore next.
You don’t have to go for every indicator.
Decide what to discard.
Collect data for that purpose.
NewsBurst is being developed in that direction.
