Long USD/JPY long is also not good. But this time as well, according to the rules, cut losses.
This dollar-yen long position this time also did not go well, unfortunately.
Long at 157.428 yenwas entered, but
after that,closed at 156.583 yen.
The result was -2,180,100 yen.
To be honest, it’s quite tough.
What’s more frustrating is that
after stopping out, the price rebounded and ended up in the positive territory.
I can’t help thinking, “If I had held on just a bit longer, I’d have been saved…”
There were moments like that.
But what’s important here is
at that moment, it wasn’t clear whether it would rebound.
This time, following my rules as well,
I cut losses according to the exit signal.
Entry basis is
the DMI60 buy conditionin addition to
the ADX14 on the DMI6 breaking above the −DIExit rules are
when the +DI on DMI34 drops to or below −DI
or
when the ADX14 breaks above +DI, exit
Looking only at the result, it’s frustrating, but
if I had ignored the rules and held on, losses could have been even larger.
That’s why this time’s reflection is
to properly acknowledge the fact that “I lost even though I followed the rules” and
to review whether there are any improvements to entry and exit conditions.
Rather than trying to recover emotionally after a loss,
this time, I want to calm down again and connect it to the next trade.
