【9/29 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, let's start with today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 157.40. This morning, USD/JPY started around 157.35, but during the Tokyo session it traded in the low 157s with limited movement.
Yesterday, due to the remarks by Minister of Finance Suganami, it slid to around 156.50, but the decline was almost wiped out during overseas hours that day. With the uncertainty surrounding the Bank of Japan's continuous rate hikes and a lack of concrete policy-related statements, the yen’s depreciation trend will not change unless such statements appear.
Direction is hard to gauge due to verbal interventions by U.S. and Japanese authorities, but there is volatility, which should be favorable for us scalpers.
USD/JPY is likely to hand over to overseas hours at roughly the morning level.
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping (my notes).
● Movements near 16:00 London market open
● Movements near 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the release of the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index and U.S. JOLTS jobs data at 23:00

Tonight's “1-minute chart scalping strategy” targets moves around the London and New York market openings, and the moves after the 23:00 release of the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index and U.S. JOLTS. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” following the theory should pose no problems. If you’re staying up late, align with U.S. official statements as well.
Also, if you are aiming for a short position with the “15-minute scalping strategy,” wait for a slight pullback and look to sell around 157.60–157.70 or lower before following downward.
With that, overseas trading will begin shortly!
Also,Gogojungle.com kindly came to my office all the way for an interview about “scalping.” I spoke a little despite my embarrassment, so please take a look when you have time.

Scalping tends to be thought of as having small potential profit and thus 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 during U.S. daylight time / 17:00 during U.S. standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 during U.S. daylight time / 23:00 during U.S. standard time)
U.S. indicator and event releases also bring higher volatility and more opportunities. However, in the minutes immediately after an release, the spread can widen, so the rule is to enter only after it returns to the normal spread.
Please check the U.S. indicator and event schedules in advance on broker or FX provider websites. Knowing the time windows when opportunities arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning right before U.S. indicator or event releases. If you go against the trend, it could be irreversible. Careless mistakes are not acceptable; absolutely not.
The U.S. indicator and event schedule can be checked on each broker’s or FX provider’s website.
Of course, there are many other points, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
