In Tokyo time, the USD/JPY rose as Finance Minister Katayama said that “the U.S. side signaled concerns about a weaker yen at the Japan-U.S. summit,” fueling expectations that the U.S. would push for yen weakness correction, accelerating yen buying. Also, with the U.S. 10-year yield declining in after-hours trading, the pair fell to 157.94 yen.
