Original Gold-only EA "AurumTriEdge" latest information! Publishing backtest results of 11 years and 1263 tests!
Currently, a Gold (XAUUSD) dedicated EA“AurumTriEdge_M5_XAUUSD_MT4” is under application for listing on GogoJungle.
AurumTriEdge is the first Gold-only EA I have developed.
Gold is a instrument that can target large price moves, but also experiences substantial price fluctuations.
Therefore, from the early stages of development, the theme has been
“Can I create an EA that captures Gold on a day-trading to swing basis, while keeping drawdowns down and compounding profits?”
that question.
Targeting different phases of Gold with three logics
AurumTriEdge is equipped with three trading logics with different characteristics.
Instead of aiming at all markets with one logic, it is structured to target different conditions and market phases.
All of them are designed for day-trade to swing-type trading aimed at “small losses, large profits.”
Nin-satin and Martingale are not used.
Each logic can hold at most one position, and the entire EA is simple with a maximum of three positions.
Over 11 years and 1,263 backtests
First, I conducted a long-term backtest with a fixed 0.1 lot and a fixed spread of 30.
[Backtest Conditions]
Testing period: January 2015 to June 2026
Initial equity: $10,000
Lot size: fixed 0.1 lot
Spread: fixed 30
Modeling quality: 99.90%
[Results]
Trades: 1,263
Net profit: $41,974.39
PF: 2.14
Max DD: $1,008.30
RF: approximately 41.63
Over more than 10 years and more than 1,200 trades, the PF reached 2.14.
What AurumTriEdge emphasizes is not only the magnitude of profits.
Because Gold has large price moves, I also checked the maximum DD and RF during development.
Supports compound growth
AurumTriEdge supports not only fixed lot size but also compounding.
Rather than the common method of increasing the lot size according to balance, the lot size is calculated from the allowable loss per trade based on the distance to stop loss and the configured loss tolerance.
When backtesting the same period with a 1% compound risk,
Trades: 1,263
Net profit: $142,834.61
Ending balance: approximately $152,835
PF: 2.64
Maximum relative DD: 18.24%
This was the result.
With compounding, profits grow substantially, but as assets increase, the lot size also grows, leading to larger drawdowns in the middle.
Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate not only profits but also drawdown (DD).
Real forward testing has started
Alongside backtesting, forward testing on a real account has begun.
Just because backtesting yields favorable results does not guarantee the EA's performance in real operation.
In the actual market, we will verify whether entries and exits operate normally and whether there is any significant divergence from backtests.
We are also conducting long-term backtests using variable spreads, not just fixed spreads.
Next time, we will introduce additional backtests conducted with variable spreads and SP50.
Note: Backtests are simulations based on historical data and do not guarantee actual performance or future profits.
