【9/24 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Now let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 157.95. This morning USD/JPY started around 158.30, but in Tokyo time, after a decent amount of selling near the value date, it has been in a range-bound phase.
During Silver Week it had softened to around 158.40, but at this level it seems rate-checks and yen weakness restraints are being watched, so likely large positions were adjusted. The price movement feels slightly odd though…
USD/JPY is likely to hand over to overseas time with a drop of about 35 pips from the morning level.
Now, here are the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping (my personal notes).
● Around 16:00 London market open movements
● Movements after the US initial jobless claims release at 21:30
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes…
・There is a statement by Williams (New York Fed President) at 17:10
・There is a statement by Hamrick (Cleveland Fed President) at 21:50
・There is a statement by Paulson (Philadelphia Fed President) at 23:10
・Be mindful of headlines related to the Hormuz Strait

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements around market opens and the 21:30 US initial jobless claims release. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” following the standard approach should pose no problems.
Also, if you are aiming for short positions with the “15-minute Scalping Strategy,” wait for a small pullback and look to sell at around 158.30–158.40 or lower, then ride it down.
Now, overseas time is about to start soon!
Also,Gogojan-san came all the way to my office for an interview about “scalping.” I spoke a bit, so please take a look when you have time.

Since scalping aims for small profit margins, it’s easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. Targeting periods with higher volatility can dramatically reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 US daylight time / 17:00 US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 US daylight time / 23:00 US standard time)
Even immediately after US indicators/events are released, volatility increases and there are many opportunities. However, in the first few minutes after an announcement, the spread may widen, so the rule is to trade only after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will arise allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before US indicators/events. If you go against it, it can wipe out in an instant. Carelessness is not acceptable, absolutely not.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of each securities/FX broker.
Of course there are many other points as well, but I’ve talked about the minimum points you should hold when scalping USD/JPY.
