Tōmugi Takaki? (Note: The name in Japanese appears as 鏑木 高明) 'Weekly Gold Market Outlook' September 24, 2026 issue
Kabutochi Takaki, the representative director and president of Kabushiki Kaisha Investment Daily, renowned pioneer in astrology-based market analysis and leading figure in financial cycle analysis, writes the weekly gold market outlook report.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the week of September 14, the closing price of New York gold was up $16 from the previous week at $4,424.90. This week, the closing price on the 23rd was $4,318.40, down $106.50 from the previous week. The market absorbed last week's Fed rate hike as expected, but this week's decline was primarily due to the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rising above 5%.
Rising above 5% is a considerable shock. It is at almost a 20-year high, and on the monthly chart, one can clearly see that the triangle formed since October 2023 has decisively broken to the upside. In this column, we have always warned about this formation this year. Recently, the next statement was as follows: “Even on the weekly chart, it has been a long time since breaking out above the triangle, but it is rising in a classical pattern. Looking back, on the July 13 issue, we noted that on the weekly chart since October 2023, after the inflation peak at that time, rates rose above 5%, then fell, but the subsequent path formed a triangle, and remained at a high level. From the chart patterns, the breakout upward accelerates interest rate increases, and hedge funds and others are highly likely to aggressively short U.S. bonds (rates rise).”
It is a beautiful chart pattern above all, and going forward, even if there is a temporary pullback (decline in rates), as long as rates do not fall below 4.8%, concerns about rate increases cannot be dismissed. The December FOMC rate hike is priced at an 80% probability.
