Even if you imitate someone who is winning, that does not guarantee you will win
If you can’t win with FX,
you might think, “If I just copy how successful people trade, I’ll win.”
I used to think that way.
In fact, I have learned from people who win in scalping.
That person didn’t become able to win after joining a school; they had already been winning with their own trades.
So,
“If I can do the same as this person, I can win too.”
I thought.
But in reality, I couldn’t do it the same way.
Even looking at the same chart, judgments aren’t the same
The charts we look at are the same.
The same candlesticks.
The same price movements.
Still,
I hesitate where the other person would decide, “I can enter here.”
Where I think it’s a chance, the other person does nothing.
Even when the market moves against me, it’s different.
The other person would
think, “different,”
and cut quickly.
But I
think, “If I wait a little longer, it might come back.”
That’s when I realized.
Knowing a method and being able to execute that method are two different things.
Even a single stop loss varies greatly from person to person
In my head,
“If the conditions break, I’ll cut my losses.”
I understand this.
But when my own money is actually decreasing,
I think, “If I cut here and it comes back immediately, I’ll hate that.”
“If I wait a little longer, it might come back.”
So,
there’s a gap between understanding the knowledge and being able to act with real money.
A method includes “the person themselves”
When we talk about trading methods,
entry conditions.
stops.
take profit.
indicators.
time frames.
We imagine rules like these.
But in reality, it isn’t just that.
Speed of judgment.
How little hesitation there is.
How one feels about losses.
Concentration.
Whether you can wait.
Emotional shifts.
These also affect results.
So,
even if you copy the same method, you cannot copy the person themselves.
Knowing the recipe does not guarantee the same dish
This isn’t just about FX.
Even if you’re taught how to swing a baseball bat, not everyone can hit the same.
Even if you read a cooking recipe, not everyone can produce the same flavor.
Even if the knowledge is the same,
experience.
feel.
timing.
judgment.
execution.
are different.
FX is the same.
So,
just because “this person wins with this method”
does not mean
“I can win in the same way.”
is guaranteed.
It’s also important to think about what “reproducibility” means
In FX,
we often hear that something is “highly reproducible.”
But,
reproducible for whom?
The creator themselves can do it.
An experienced trader can do it.
But,
can a beginner do it?
even immediately after a losing streak?
Even if their money is decreasing, can they follow the rules?
If you don’t include those aspects in your thinking,
the phrase “reproducibility” alone is not enough.
Before looking for successful traders, look at yourself
There is meaning in learning from successful traders.
Their way of thinking.
Risk management.
Market perspective.
There are things you can learn.
But,
their success and your ability to win by the same method are separate matters.
So,
instead of just asking, “Who is winning,”
consider,
“Can I continue this approach with real money?”
I think it’s better to ask this.
In FX, more than seeking a superior method,
it’s important to know when you tend to hesitate.
how you react to losses.
whether you can truly wait.
to understand these things is also important.
