[9/18] Tonight's USD/JPY scalping points and methods are being shared for free
This is Tomizaki from the Trading Office.
【9/18 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let's go with dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently, the dollar-yen is around 157.50. This morning it started around 155.95, but in the Tokyo session it rose sharply by more than a 1 yen 50 sen range.
The Bank of Japan’s policy rate rose as expected by 0.25%, but with 2 out of 9 Policy Board members voting against, expectations for continued rate hikes and earlier additional hikes cooled, contributing to yen weakness. Also, markets seemingly perceived Governor Kuroda’s press conference as dovish.
From the morning levels, the dollar-yen is likely to carry over to the overseas session with an increase of about 1 yen 55 sen.
Now, the points for tonight’s dollar-yen scalping (my personal notes).
● Movements around 16:00, London market open
● Movements around 22:00, New York market open ( Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the release of the “U.S. Leading Economic Indicators”
———
Other notes..
・There will be a speech by Christine Lagarde, ECB President at 19:30
・There will be a speech by Lael Brainard, Vice Chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve, at 22:30
・Be careful of headlines related to the Hormuz Strait
———
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements around market opens and after the 23:00 release of the “U.S. Leading Economic Indicators.” For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” following the theory should pose no problem. The dollar-yen is moving even on weekends, which is fine.
Also, the short on the “15-minute Scalping Strategy” is less favorable as yen weakness has strengthened due to the retreat of expectations for consecutive rate hikes and early additional hikes by the BOJ. Tonight, I’d like to focus safely on “1-minute scalping.”
Thank you for your continued support tonight as well!
Also,GogoJungle kindly visited my office from afar for an interview about “scalping.” I spoke a little, so please watch if you have time.
I’m the only one whose thumbnail is in-person and a bit embarrassing… (lol)https://www.gogojungle.co.jp/finance/navi/articles/124690
Because scalping targets a small profit per trade, it’s easy to assume there are 24-hour opportunities, but that isn’t the case. By aiming for periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the trading difficulty.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open times (Eastern Daylight Time: 16:00 / Eastern Standard Time: 17:00)
・New York market open times (EDT 22:00 / EST 23:00)
Even immediately after U.S. data releases or events, volatility increases and opportunities arise. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to act only after spreads return to normal."}
Please check the U.S. data and events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities will come can help you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before U.S. data or events. If you move against the trend, you’ll be unable to recover. Carelessness is not acceptable.
U.S. data and event schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX dealer.
Of course, there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve discussed the essential points you should grasp when scalping the dollar-yen.
