Before buying EA, verify for yourself with the “All Trades CSV” — Steps to aggregate by year and currency in 5 minutes
The sales page for EA shows numbers like “23 years plus” and “PF 1.47.” What matters more than the numbers themselves is whether you can reproduce those numbers with your own hands. If you cannot reproduce them, at best you only “believe” in them.
In this article, using LAST ORDER (automatic trading EA with time-zone rules, 6 currency pairs) CSV of all 11,489 trades from May 2003 to December 2025, free of charge, I will outline how to aggregate by year and by currency pair using only Excel. The timestamps and logic names are not included, so you cannot see the inner logic. What you can see is everything about “when this EA traded, with which currency pair, and how many pips it gained or lost.”

1. Contents of the CSV
There are 6 columns: date (settlement date), currency pair, buy/sell, entry price, settlement price, and profit/loss pips. 11,489 rows. If you sum all the profit/loss pips, it comes to +39,848.7 pips.
2. First look at the overall picture
Open in Excel and sum the profit/loss pips column. Then use COUNTIF to count wins (>0) and losses (<0). This much takes about 1 minute.
3. Aggregate by year
Create a column that extracts the year from the date column (=YEAR(A2)). Use a pivot table with rows = year, and values = sum of profit/loss pips and count.
Here you should notice one thing. In 2012 the total pips were -7.2 pips, a slight loss. Yet the yearly performance on the sales page is +8.8% for 2012 and “positive for the whole year.” One of them isn’t lying; the standards are just different.
- The total pips do not reflect the “円 value of 1 pip for each currency pair” and the lot sizing that the EA adjusts per currency pair.
- The yearly performance on the sales page is in yen and is a theoretical compound value.
“A year with almost zero pips in pips terms can be profitable in yen terms” — this difference is something you can observe yourself, which is why the CSV is distributed.
4. Aggregate by currency pair
Change the Pivot table’s rows to currency pair. You’ll see which currencies earned and which currencies continued to lose. Furthermore, by setting rows = year and columns = currency pair, you can see places where a certain currency lost heavily in a particular year. The weaknesses of the EA are all preserved in the CSV even if they aren’t stated on the sales page.
5. Count the longest losing streaks
Sort the profit/loss pips column by date, and count the maximum number of consecutive losses (create a column that adds +1 when the next row is a loss and resets to 0 when it’s a win, then take MAX). In real operation, the moment you want to stop is determined not by annual results but by the length of the losing streak.
6. Match settlement prices with MT4
Select one row, open that currency pair’s daily chart in MT4 for that day, and check whether the settlement price falls within the high-low range. Doing a few rows will reveal whether the CSV is fabricated or not.
