【9/17 Dollar-Yen Scalp Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now, let's do dollar-yen scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo time overview.
Currently, the USD/JPY is around 155.75. This morning it started around 156.20, but in the early Tokyo session it moved little at the levels after yesterday’s FOMC. As overseas time approached, the trend became slightly more bearish.
Market interest is shifting from the FOMC to the Bank of Japan policy meeting starting today. A 0.25% rate hike is already priced in, but the focus is on the pace of hikes from next month onward and the hawkishness of the stance.
USD/JPY is likely to drop about 45 pips from the morning level as we hand over to overseas time.
Now, here are tonight’s dollar-yen scalping points (my personal notes).
● Movement around the London market open near 16:00
● Movement after the U.S. initial jobless claims, housing starts, and Philadelphia Fed index releases at 21:30
● Movement around the New York market open near 22:00 (Dow opens at 22:30)
Also, if you’re aiming for shorts with the “15-minute scalping strategy,” wait for a slight pullback and look to sell around 155.90-156.00 or below, then press lower.
Now, overseas time is about to start!
Also,GogoJungle kindly visited my office from far away for an interview about “Scalping.” I spoke a little, so please take a look when you have time.
I’m the only one with a live-action thumbnail, which is a bit embarrassing… (lol)https://www.gogojungle.co.jp/finance/navi/articles/124690
Scalping often seems to offer constant opportunities because profits per trade are small, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
Even immediately after U.S. indicators/events are released, volatility increases and there are many opportunities. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so the golden rule is to operate after the spreads return to normal.
Always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance on broker or FX company websites. Knowing when opportunities arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before U.S. indicators/events are released. If prices move against you, you could face immediate losses. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
U.S. indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of brokers and FX providers.
Of course there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve spoken about the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
Also..
In fact, I have completely released one of my trading methods, the “15-minute chart scalping,” for free. I hope it’s somewhat helpful (completely free).
