Are you properly saving screenshots of trades each time?
Even if you think "let's look back later," the chart is already moving
When it comes to improving FX trading, I personally find it very important to "leave in a state where you can reflect afterward."
When you enter,
"I entered because it broke here"
"This pullback was clean"
"I thought it would extend in this time zone"
There should be your own reasons as well.
However, a few hours later or the next day, when you open MT4, naturally the chart has moved on.
If you look at the history,
"I bought at this time and minute"
"I closed at this price"
"Profit was this much"
You can see these results.
But,
the moment's how the chart looked at that time
is not preserved.
Indicators are also changing constantly, so you cannot review the exact state at the moment of entry later.
This surprisingly makes trade verification difficult.
Rather than winning trades, I want to preserve losing trades on screen
Profitable trades tend to stay in memory easily.
On the other hand, with losing trades,
"Well, it just went the other way"
often ends there.
But when you actually lay out the chart at the entry point,
"Losses often involve overreaching high"
"You entered during a time when there was no trend"
"You repeatedly did counter-trend trades with similar patterns"
There are habits you may not notice yourself.
This is not easy to understand from the trading history numbers alone.
So what I wanted was,
"A tool that automatically saves the chart at the time of the trade"
.
But taking screenshots manually every time isn't sustainable
Initially, you can do it manually.
Take a screenshot after you place an order.
Take a screenshot when you settle a position.
Save with a filename.
Organize into folders.
However, in practice, it becomes quite tedious.
Especially in short-term trading, you need to view the chart immediately after entry, and it's not practical to take a screenshot at the moment of settlement every time.
And the most troublesome case is
"I intended to capture but forgot"
.
Even if you realize it later, the moment's chart does not come back.
So I made "Trade Auto Screenshot"
To solve this problem, I created for MT4
"Trade Auto Screenshot".
The basic idea is simple.
Monitor trades and automatically save the chart at the time of a buy/sell as an image.
In other words,
a tool to forget the act of taking screenshots itself
.
It is not an EA for automated trading.
It is not an indicator for predicting the market.
It is,
a recording tool to make it easier to review your own trades later
.
Also supports opening multiple charts
When actually using MT4, you may have multiple timeframes open for the same currency pair,
M5
M15
H1
like that.
Therefore this tool checks the charts opened in MT4 and obtains screenshots from the charts corresponding to the instrument.
It searches the set timeframes first and uses charts that meet the conditions to capture.
Thus you do not need to reopen charts every time for screenshots.
Manual shooting is also possible.
Also records to CSV
If you save many images alone,
you may not know which trade each image represents.
Therefore, not only screenshots but also trading information is saved as CSV.
This makes it easier later to
"I want to check the image of this trade"
.
Especially for those who trade frequently, it is more convenient than just saving screenshots.
Use cases we envision
Personally, the following uses are the most recommended.
On weekends, review that week's trade history and check the saved screenshots.
And then,
"This was a good entry"
"This was outside the rules"
"The result was a loss, but the entry itself wasn't bad"
"I won, but it was a fluke"
So categorize like that.
This is important.
Profit ≠ good trade
is not always the case.
Conversely,
Loss ≠ bad trade
is not necessarily the case.
For separating trade results and the judgments at the time, it's convenient to have the entry chart preserved.
Useful for both discretionary traders and EA verification
This tool is not limited to discretionary trading.
If you are operating an EA,
"Why did the EA enter here?"
"What was the market like for this losing trade?"
"Are there common points in charts during a losing streak?"
you can use it to check.
It helps verify things that backtest reports alone cannot show when combined with chart visuals.
Personally, when validating an EA, I often realize things by looking at the chart that numbers alone wouldn't reveal.
Therefore,
EA developers and users can also use it as a verification aid
.
Convenient for people sharing trades on blogs, X, and social media
Another audience this tool suits is
people who share their trades on blogs, X, etc.
.
For example,
"Reviewing today's entry"
"I bought with this pattern"
"I cut my loss here"
"This trade had many points to review"
In such posts, you would need to prepare a chart image each time.
Every time,
Open the chart
Switch to the target timeframe
Find the entry point
Take a screenshot
Save the image
This process takes quite a bit of time.
In particular, when you plan to post later,
"the chart at that time has already moved on"
.
If you use Trade Auto Screenshot, the chart at the time of trade is automatically preserved, making it easier to later use those images in posts.
For example,
Trade reports on X
Blog trade diaries
Note articles
Discord or community reflections
EA operation results
these kinds of image assets are suitable to save.
Those planning to post later will find it easier to first automatically save the images.
Also, since it saves not only profitable trades but losing trades as well,
it's a benefit that makes it easy to organize your trades chronologically rather than just clipping the good parts
as a recording purpose.
Not a tool that guarantees hits, but a tool that makes recording easier
This product does not offer
"increased win rate"
"increased profits"
or any such functions.
It does not decide trades on your behalf.
What it can do is very simple.
Record the chart at trade time on your behalf.
That is all.
However, this kind of simple task is surprisingly hard to keep doing yourself every time.
If you think, "I know I should keep a trade record, but it's tedious and I couldn't continue."
this tool is especially easy to use for you.
