【9/11 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of Tokyo time today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 154.05. Today the pair started around 154.35 in the morning, but during Tokyo hours it strengthened to around 154.60 (today's Tokyo high) near the midpoint of the session, and then tended to ease a bit. Perhaps some selling occurred ahead of the US indicators as a cautious adjustment?
From the morning level, USD/JPY is expected to drop about 30 pips and transition to the overseas session.
Now, tonight is the US CPI release. If, as with yesterday's US PPI, the actual comes in higher than expectations, expectations for a rate hike in the US next week may rise. There could be decent volatility tonight as well. Let’s earn quickly and enjoy a good weekend! (A strong wish...)
Now, here are tonight's USD/JPY scalping points (my memo).
● Movements around the London market open at 16:00
● Movements after the US CPI release at 21:30
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index release at 23:00
—–
Other notes…
・There will be a statement by Lagarde at 23:00 (ECB President)
・Be mindful of headlines related to Middle East tensions

Tonight's “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements near each market open, and the moves after the 21:30 US CPI release and the 23:00 University of Michigan index. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” follow the standard approach and you should be fine. Also, Lagarde will be speaking again tonight.
If you are aiming for the “15-minute chart scalping strategy” for short positions, wait for a slight pullback to around 153.20–153.30 or lower and then sell, aiming to move lower. By the US CPI release, have your positions flat and ready.
Now the overseas session is about to begin!
Scalping tends to be perceived as having small profit targets and thus appearing to offer 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC: 16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC: 22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
After US indicators or events are released, volatility often increases and opportunities rise. However, in the first few minutes after a release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after spreads return to normal levels.
Always check the schedule of US indicators and events in advance. Knowing when opportunities may come helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before US indicators or events. If you position against the move, you could incur rapid losses that are hard to recover. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US indicator and event schedules can be checked on the websites of brokerages and FX providers.
Of course, there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve explained the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
