【9/10 USD/JPY scalping points】
Thanks for your hard work! Now, let's go with USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, a overview of the Tokyo session today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around the 153.50 level. The pair started around 153.55 in the morning, but during the Tokyo session it moved quietly for the first time in a while.
With the US PPI releasing tonight and CPI tomorrow, it seems like a cautious mood is prevailing. This week's inflation indicators are expected to influence next week's FOMC outcome, so it seems hard to move carelessly.
USD/JPY is likely to hand over to overseas traders at roughly the same morning level.
By the way, tonight the ECB Council meeting results will be announced. A rate hike is expected, and Lagarde's press conference may also affect USD/JPY. Caution is advised.
Now, here are the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping (my notes).
● Movements around the London market open at 16:00
● Movements after the US initial jobless claims and Producer Price Index releases at 21:30
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes…
・21:15 “ECB policy rate & statement”; 21:45 “Lagarde ECB President press conference”
・Be cautious of headlines related to Middle East tensions

Tonight's “1-minute chart scalping” will likely target moves around each market open and after the 21:30 US initial jobless claims and PPI releases. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” following the theory should pose no problem. There may also be opportunities after Lagarde's press conference tonight.
The 23:00 release of US existing home sales is unlikely to have much impact, so just keep that in mind.
Also, if you're aiming for short positions with the “15-minute scalping strategy,” think of selling when the level is around 153.50–60 or lower, then chasing lower from there.
Scalping has small target margins, so it is easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting times with higher volatility to some extent, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (US daylight time 16:00– / US standard time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (US daylight time 22:00– / US standard time 23:00–)
Even immediately after US indicators/events release, volatility tends to rise and opportunities appear. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so it is essential to enter after they return to normal levels.
Always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities will come helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before US indicators/events releases. If you move against you, there is nothing to be done. You can be taken to your stop-loss in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on each brokerage or FX provider's website.
Of course, there are many other points besides the three above, but I have discussed the key points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
