【9/8 USD/JPY Scalp Points】
Good job everyone! Let’s go for USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of the Tokyo session for today.
Currently USD/JPY is around 153.80. This morning USD/JPY started around 154.30, but during the Tokyo session after 11:00 JST it sold off to around 152.90 (today’s Tokyo low).
Due to short covering by overseas funds and personal stop-outs, this pushed the price into a short-term capitulation near the low. Is this today’s near-term bottom?
Thereafter it recovered, and USD/JPY appears to be handing off to the overseas session with about a 50-pip decline from the morning levels.
If it breaks below the critical 155, yen carry unwinds will intensify. For us scalpers, it feels like a promising market is coming (but let’s stay calm...).
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points (my personal memo).
● Movements around 16:00 London market open
● Movements around 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes…
・No major US indicators or events today
・Be cautious of headlines related to Middle East tensions

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping strategy” doesn’t have any high-profile US indicators or events scheduled, so I expect to base trades on moves around market opens. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” handling in line with the theory should be fine. Even without new data, there should be many opportunities if it breaks below the key level of 155.
Also, if you’re aiming for a short position with the “15-minute Scalping Strategy,” wait for a bit of a pullback and look to short when price is around 154.30–154.40 or lower.
Then, thank you for your continued support tonight!
Because scalping targets small profits, it often seems like there are opportunities 24 hours a day, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with higher volatility, you can significantly lower the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I watch are around the London market open and the New York market open.
・London market open time (US daylight saving time 16:00 / US standard time 17:00)
・New York market open time (US daylight saving time 22:00 / US standard time 23:00)
Volatility remains high and opportunities arise immediately after US indicators or events are released. However, in the minutes right after the release the spread can widen, so the rule is to enter only after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check the US indicators and events schedule beforehand. Knowing when opportunities may come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, never position immediately before US indicators or events. If you go against them, you’ll be devastated. A single careless mistake can wipe out your stop loss in an instant—no excuses.
You can check the US indicators and events schedule on the websites of each brokerage or FX provider.
Of course there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve shared the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
