〜Later half〜 For many years, I continued to record my trades on the chart
What I did before I became able to win is something people ask me about.
It’s a verification process.
Many times I would answer that, but just saying that makes it sound a little easy.
In reality, I did quite a lot of troublesome things as well.
I would print out the charts I traded, record every entry point, exit point, and things I noticed at the time.
I can’t remember the exact number, but I think I continued for about 2–3 years.
The volume was probably over 1,000 lots.
And on weekends, I would review them.
Nowadays I could do this on a computer, and I think there are much more efficient methods.
But back then, I really printed it on paper.
What made this hard was that there was no obvious result.
If there were a guarantee that if I did this for a year I would win, I could still push through.
But there was no such guarantee anywhere.
I would record trades with all my might.
Review them on weekends.
And lose again.
Record again the next week.
Lose again.
And still continue.
In the moment this work is being done, it doesn’t amount to even a single yen.
On the other hand, I was losing in real trades.
Even so,
I wonder why I was losing.
Why couldn’t I win in these situations?
There are many times I lose in this pattern.
I feel like I’ve seen this pattern before.
I kept thinking about these things.
Then, little by little, things began to become clearer.
It doesn’t happen that everything becomes clear overnight; yesterday I knew nothing, and then suddenly I understood everything all at once.
It’s really in tiny increments, millimeter by millimeter.
Perhaps parts of the chart shapes were stored in my head as well, bit by bit.
It’s a sense that points accumulate gradually.
But I don’t know when those points will connect.
That’s the tough part of FX, I think.
If I trade for three years I’ll win.
If I study for 5,000 hours I’ll win.
If I verify 1,000 times I’ll win.
There is no such guarantee.
I don’t know when results will come.
I don’t even know if results will come at all.
Yet I kept thinking.
If you think calmly, normally you’d say it’s hard to keep going.
I thoroughly studied the trades of people who are winning
Not only my own trades.
