【8/24 USDJPY Scalping Points】
Good work today! Let’s do USDJPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview for Tokyo time today.
Currently USDJPY is around the 159.00 level. This morning the pair started around 159.05, but during Tokyo time it moved up and down somewhat without a clear direction, hovering around the 159 level.
Tonight, U.S. Treasurer Janet Yellen is expected to announce “the most severe sanctions in history” against Iran, so the market may stay on the sidelines. It could be a factor that supports dollar buying in a geopolitical event scenario.
USDJPY is likely to hand over the baton to overseas time at roughly the same level as this morning.
Now, the points for USDJPY scalping tonight.
● Movements near the London market open around 16:00
● Movements near the New York market open around 22:00 (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the 27:00 “press conference by U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen”

Other notes ..
・27:00 U.S. Treasury Secretary holding a press conference on Iran sanctions
・Be mindful of headlines related to U.S.-Japan coordinated intervention
・Be mindful of headlines related to Middle East tensions

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements around each market open, plus the movement after 27:00 “press conference by U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.” For users of the “1-minute chart scalping club,” handling according to theory should be fine.
Also, the short-only “15-minute chart scalping” is waiting for the Yellen announcement mood and is prone to safe-haven dollar buying, so there is no need to force positions. Tonight I’d prefer to focus steadily on “1-minute chart scalping.”
Now, the overseas session will start shortly!
Scalping tends to be thought of as having small target profit per trade, so it might seem like there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC+1 during US daylight time / UTC+0 during US standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC-4 during US daylight time / UTC-5 during US standard time)
Even immediately after U.S. data releases or events, volatility rises and opportunities increase. However, in the minutes right after the release, the spread can widen, so the rule is to always enter after it returns to the normal spread.
Please always check the U.S. data and event schedules in advance. By knowing when opportunities will come, you can efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before U.S. data or events. If you go against the trend, it could be disastrous. You could be brought to your stop loss in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely.
U.S. data and event schedules can be checked on the websites of each securities company and FX broker.
Of course there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve shared the minimum points you should hold when scalping USDJPY.
