【Don't make verification homework】Why. first, the number of times later
When verification doesn’t continue, is it just a matter of not having enough repetitions?
The reason is that you need to gather materials for judgment before what you see results from it.
The reason is that what you want to confirm isn’t decided yet beforehand.
Today, I’ll talk about returning the verification that became homework to a small check!
“I have to verify”—and before you realize it, days have passed by putting it off.
Haven’t you had that kind of experience?
Prepare a notebook, create a spreadsheet,“Okay, I’ll start recording from today.”and yet, you stop after three days.
Even if you try to increase the number of verifications, you don’t feel that something has changed.
Even so, you think again“If I repeat this many times, I should understand.”and you repeat the same thing.
People for whom verification has become homework are“Why.”not“How much.”to worry about first.
In this article, I will write from 18 years of experience about why verification doesn’t continue, and“the habit of checking”how it becomes ingrained.
Reading this, you’ll likely see what to change tomorrow.
? Make today’s check three lines
I’ll pose one question here. Where does verification start?
The answer is in a single line of reasons, not in a number of repetitions.
I’ll pose one question here. Where does verification start?
The conclusion is to leave one place where you were unsure before increasing the number of repetitions.
I’ll place this here so you can use it right after reading.
If you write it in one line, it’s better to have practical words than a pretty reflection.
•【The reason for verification is to find the place you were unsure of, not the cause of defeat】
•【Before collecting the same form, write why you stopped there】
•【Before increasing the number of repetitions, leave one place to look at and one condition to skip】
Having these three lines makes the next check’s target less fuzzy.
? ✔ Rather than increasing reflection, leave one place to look at next.
Why stop at three lines?
Because as soon as you add more items, you’ll stop continuing.
Start with one first.
If you feel a sense of incongruity there, fix just one the next day.
This level of smallness is sufficient ^^
? Section 1: The true nature of verification becoming “homework”
The more seriously someone studies trading, the less verification continues.
Don’t you find that strange?
What’s happening is actually a natural occurrence.
What usually triggers people to start verification is“I’ve been losing.”or“Someone recommended it to me.”either.
In other words, the reason to verify stops at“Because it seems necessary somehow.”for many people.
Starting work with an unclear purpose means you don’t know what to call“the end.”and you cannot determine when to stop.
Work with no visible end makes the brain unconsciously“let’s do it later.”and procrastinate.
This is the true form of verification turning into homework.
Haven’t you had experiences like this?
• You think you must verify but your hands won’t move for days
• You record, but nothing changes afterward
• You’ve heard “If you do it 100 times you’ll understand,” and you try to increase repetitions
• You feel like you’ve verified but in the same situation you have the same doubt
• You made notebooks or spreadsheets, but you stopped halfway
If even one of these fits, that’s your starting line.
The difference between those who can continue and those who can’t isn’t willpower or time.
Whether you know what you are going to look atmatters more than anything.
For example, when reviewing a loss, do you check“Why did I enter here?”or
“How many times did losses pile up?”
Your first judgment leads to the next judgment. The next judgment becomes a record, but it doesn’t change behavior.
While you verify out of a sense of duty, almost everyone falls into the next-judgment state.
Therefore, even if you continue, you’ll only become exhausted, and it will pile up as homework.
? Verification doesn’t continue because you don’t decide what to confirm; you haven’t set what to check.
? Before you start moving to verify, ask only one thing: “What am I going to confirm today?” If this exists, your work becomes verification; if not, it’s likely ramping up for the habit of waiting.
? Section 2: The structural reason why “repetition first” occurs
Why do many people“Why.”instead of“How much.”think ahead first?
This is often due to how external information is received.
The phrase “If you do verification 100 times you’ll understand”is something you’ve probably heard somewhere.
It’s not wrong, but if that phrase comes first,“the goal becomes increasing repetitions”and the purpose becomes repetition.
Meanwhile“Why.”is missing from it.
What you truly want to accumulate in verification is“materials usable for the next judgment.”.
Reasons for entries, movements afterward, reasons for losses, points that differed from expectations.
By confirming these one by one,“I’m weak here.”becomes awareness.
With awareness, your action in the same situation changes next time.
However, in a state where “repetition first” is the pattern, this cycle won’t function.Even if you record 100 times,
“Why did I enter there”isn’t written, so even if data piles up, it doesn’t become material for judgment.
There’s another structural issue.
If you try to answer “Why.” first, there are moments when giving an answer feels difficult.
When asked for entry reasons, you might only produce“Because it seemed like it would go up.”which isn’t a reason.
For example,“The movement dropped near the wall, and the wave direction aligned with the higher time frame.”such a form.
If it’s tied to structure, later you can chase“Why did I make that judgment?”to examine it.
If not tied, there won’t be anything to review later.
If you can’t write it, don’t enter.
This alone reduces entries without a basis.
Not a difficult rule, but a simple guideline:“If you can’t write it, skip it.”That’s the simple criterion.
This act of writing a single line actually has a double effect.
【Check 04: Put the question before the repetition】
The other is that when you look back later, you can verify“how you viewed it”as material.
If you only record post-entry results, it won’t help your next judgment.
“What you saw at that point, and what you based it on”must remain for verification to function.
As you get used to it, you’ll see a difference between scenes you can’t write and scenes you can.
“Today there were many scenes I couldn’t write.”That itself becomes information about market conditions.
You’ll gradually understand what days not to rush into entries.
✅ An entry that you can’t write the reason for is a sign you are relying on predictions.
【Add Check 05: Leave only the observed facts in one line】
✅ The content you write doesn’t need to be long. Even something like “before the wall, the waves align” is fine. What matters is that it’s tied to the chart’s structure.
⭕ Section 4: The meaning of moving between lower and higher timeframes
When you open a chart, what do you look at first?
Many people start searching for an entry point the moment they open it.
This structure is the same as when verification isn’t functioning.
Those with a checking habit first confirm the lower time frame to understand the current situation.
Then they confirm the wall position and wave state on the higher timeframe.
And then they return to the lower timeframe.
They do this back-and-forth every time.
Why go back and forth? Because each timeframe has different things to confirm.
The higher timeframe is where you look at the wall position and wave state.
The lower timeframe is where you confirm the current movement to build your judgment.
If you don’t understand this difference, you’ll end up looking for entry points on both sides.
“It’s like I’m going up and down without reason.”Most of those scenes are where these roles are mixed.
By moving back and forth,“Your current position”understanding changes.
When you confirm on the higher timeframe first and then return to the lower timeframe,
“You’re close to the wall”“There’s still distance to the wall”you can judge.
This judgment leads to natural conclusions like,“Now I can enter”“Now I should wait.”.
“It’s just because of a vague feeling”is a sign that you haven’t decided what to confirm on which timeframe.
By deciding the order of checks and what to look at on each timeframe, the same chart can appear completely different.
⭕ Don’t look for entry points on the higher timeframe. The role of the higher timeframe is only to confirm the wall position and wave state.
⭕ Before moving back and forth, check whether what you see changes. If it doesn’t change, the time to confirm is mixed up.
? Section 5: Don’t treat post-loss reviews as emotional processing
After a loss, how do you move?
Many people when they incur a loss record“where I cut”“how much I lost.”and end there.
People with a checking habit“Why did I decide to enter here?”“What was the basis for that decision?”“Is the structure I used still valid?”check in that order.
Don’t record losses as “failures”;“Where did that decision come from?”trace it.
That is verification, not emotional processing.
Right after a loss, emotions remain.
If you look back in that state, you’ll end up processing regret rather than verification.
“Why did I enter here?”This backward-looking question
“What could I have noticed that I didn’t?”tends to overwrite the forward-looking verification.
“What was the basis for the loss entry position?”is.
A loss is“cost within expectations”.
“Did I decide somewhat arbitrarily?”If you know, you can see where to adjust next.
Loss as a result“outcome”not,“Was the loss position’s basis correct?”look at it that way.
This order is“place the why first.”.
This is easy to fall into (;'∀')
? After a loss, verify only whether the basis came from the structure; anything else tends to be an emotional processing.
? Merely having a rule like “don’t verify immediately after a loss” changes the quality of your review. Giving time is also a valid judgment.
? Section 6: The reason you can “wait” and whether it’s willpower or confirmation that decides the result
You sometimes hear the phrase
But even with the same“I’ve become able to wait.”the outcome can diverge greatly afterward.
A trader who is stagnant tries to wait with willpower.
They tell themselves, “I mustn’t enter now, I’ll endure and wait.”and wait.
And at some point“Is that enough?”and you break down.
“There’s still distance to the wall”“The wave direction isn’t aligned with the higher timeframe.”as a verified outcome, waiting becomes the action.
Waiting as a result of verification doesn’t tire you.
This is why the same“I’ve become able to wait”can lead to different results later.
If you dig a little deeper, when you wait by willpower, you’re in a state of“repressing the urge to enter.”Because you’re using energy, as soon as a form appears you feel
“Okay, I can finally enter,”and your judging becomes lax.
If you wait through verification, your judgment when the form appears works calmly.
“Whether you can wait”is less important than“why you’re waiting.”is the essential question.
A verification phrase like“Why am I waiting now?”in one line is the state of【Extra Confirmation 06: Leave the observed facts in one line】
truly waiting.
This, too, has the same structure as placing the why first.
“Waiting”as a judgment also requires a basis.
“Because I’m not in a position to trade now, I’ll wait”if you can write a one-liner, that is a judgment.
“I’m waiting because it feels a bit scary”is not a judgment but an emotional avoidance.
? The content of “I’ve become able to wait” being rooted in willpower or confirmation drastically changes the future accuracy.
? Please try writing one line for “Why am I waiting now?” If you can write it, it’s confirmation waiting. If you can’t, it’s likely willpower waiting.
? Section 7: The idea of confirming walls and waves
When you look at the higher timeframe, what are you seeking?
“Which way will it move?”Many try to read this, but that’s the starting point of predictive thinking.
Looking at the higher timeframe isn’t to predict “which way it will flow.”
It’s to confirm the wall position and the wave state.
By confirming these two,“Are you in a position to trade now?”is determined.
The wall is something you can notice simply by looking at the chart.
You don’t need special tools.
However, noticing it and being able to use it are different matters.
Many who notice the wall try to use it by assuming it will reverse there.
Use the wall as a verification: determine
“Is the current position near the wall or far from it?”and
“Is the wave direction aligned with the higher timeframe?”to verify.
Don’t predict; verify as a structural check.
If the verification shows,“I can’t move yet,”then the verification is valid.
“I didn’t enter”is also a valid judgment, and leaving its basis helps you next.
That“Why.”facing it changes how you view the same scene in the future.
? Noticing the wall and being able to use it are different matters. Shifting from noticing to using it for verification is the move away from prediction.
If you think, “This should reverse here at the wall,” that’s a sign of prediction. Stop at “Now here near the wall.” This moment’s restraint becomes your judging axis.
? Section 8: Place assumptions first, how to decide a losing position
Before entering, decide one thing.
“Where would my assumption be wrong if the price moved?”Decide this first.
This is the losing position, and it’s the starting point of thinking about “cost within expectations.”
Losses decided afterward“where to cut”tend to move by emotions.
“It might bounce back a little more”shifts the stop line backward.
You only need to verifywhether the basis for that loss position was correct.
Therefore,is less important than“whether the basis for the loss position came from structure.”it’s a far more important check.
If a loss determined by structure works, that means your framework functioned.
“Place assumptions first”This habit aligns with verbalizing the entry rationale.
Both align with the order of “place the why first.”
? The loss position is determined structurally before entry. It’s not something you move afterward; it exists as a result of having placed the assumptions first.
? Post-loss verification should be only about whether the loss basis came from the structure. If you can verify that, the loss is verification.
⚠ Section 9: Common pitfalls that break verification habits
After reading this far,“Okay, I’ll try it.”there's one caution I want to share.
When trying to cultivate a verification habit, there’s a common pitfall.
First is“trying to do everything at once.”.
“From today, change everything.”I understand that impulse.
But if you try to change everything at once, the number of points to verify grows too large, and you end up verifying nothing.
Start with just one.
“Write one line before entering.”Begin there.
Second“Be careful not to overemphasize the format of your records.”
Cleaning up spreadsheets and over-engineering notebook formats takes time, and ends up making form the goal rather than function.
Third“Only verify good scenes.”
Verifying profitable scenes feels gratifying and easier to continue.
Fourth“Treat lack of continuation as a willpower issue.”
If you stop after three days, that’s a sign you didn’t decide what to verify.
It’s not willpower; it’s that you hadn’t clearly decided what to verify yet.
Including me, everyone has been“Why isn’t it working?”and has gradually shaped it by verifying.
⚠ Both “try to change everything at once” and “make formats perfect” indicate you’re spending time on preparation, not verification.
⚠ Even if you stop after three days, that isn’t a failure. If you can write why you stopped in one line, that already is the first step of verification habit.
? Section 10: Start small and make verification a daily habit
Having read this far, you might be asking,“So what should I start doing tomorrow?”.
The answer is simple.
Start small and continue every day. That’s all.
Verification habits don’t form from one large verification.
They accumulate from daily small verifications.
If you rush to increase repetitions,“Why.”will be missing, so they won’t accumulate.
Three things you can do tomorrow.
・Before entry, write in one line why you are entering here.
If you can’t write it, skip it.
・Confirm the current situation on the lower timeframe, the wall and wave state on the higher timeframe, and then return to the lower timeframe in a back-and-forth manner each time
・If you incur a loss, pause for a moment and verify only the one thing: “Was the basis from the structure?”
If you feel the urge to verify more, that’s a sign it’s becoming homework.
the small habit of placing the why firstis what you’ve repeated.
But, by continuing the habit of placing the why first, you’ll gradually feel markets transform into things you can verify.
? Verification isn’t built in a day. By daily continuing the small habit of placing the why first, it slowly takes shape.
? You don’t need to do all three at once. Start with just “write one line before entry.” That alone changes how tomorrow’s chart looks.
? GOLD Antidote: For those who want to build the foundation for GOLD trading
“Place the why first”as a concept, for those who want to apply it to GOLD trading practice.
The GOLD Antidote accurately summarizes the way to think about decision-making by focusing on confirming the wall and wave.
Please use it as a foundation to change situations where verification doesn’t continue or you repeat the same doubt in the same scenes.
✔ Summary: Put the why first, the repetition later
If I had to sum up the most important message of this article in one line, it would be this.
“Place the why first.”Just by keeping this order, verification changes from homework to confirmation.
The reason verification doesn’t continue isn’t weak will.
“What you are trying to confirm”was not decided, and you were aiming for repetitions first.
Repetitions increase when you leave behind the small why, and from the start, once repetition is the goal, verification becomes a task.
Before entry“Why am I entering here?”in one line?
Reciprocate between the lower and higher timeframes to verify according to each role?
After a loss,“Was the basis from the structure?”the only thing to verify?
These three become concrete actions to cultivate verification habits.
Note,“Don’t try to do it all at once”and“Don’t over-fixate on the recording format”are things to keep in mind from the start.
First“Write one line before entry”and start there.
Tomorrow’s actions are simple.
Before opening the chart,“What will I verify today?”decide in one word.
That alone changes how you see the same chart.
“To be simply not just ‘inaudible’”you’ll be able to see a decrease in vague reasons gradually.
Next time, I’ll write about the patterns of your weaknesses that appear as your verification habit grows.
“The same scene yielding the same doubt”how will it change after verification accumulates?
