Gold Canon Update | Growth setting considering spread and external handling fees (Signals v1.08)
Gold Canon Signals v1.08 updates explained.
The theme this time is reflecting spread and external fees in the timing of profit-taking on the signal side. The concept of arrows on the chart and the basic use of semi-automatic EA remain the same as before.
※ Panel numbers and settlement signals are approximations based on internal logic. They do not perfectly match live account spreads, slippage, or executions. They do not guarantee performance or profits.
1. Why this setting is necessary
Gold moves a lot, and the spread impact is also clearly visible. There are also differences depending on the account type.
Accounts without external fees (so-called Standard accounts, etc.)… the main cost is the spread
Accounts with external fees (so-called Raw/ECN types, etc.)… in addition to the spread, there are round-trip fees
Even if you settle exactly at the price, there are situations in actual operation where fees and spreads make it hard to keep the profit. In v1.08, we set this premise with parameters to allow extending the profit-taking settlement a bit further.
2. Added settings
In the area near the input parameter “Cost / profit extension,” you will find the following.
Item | Content |
|---|---|
FeeMode | No external fees / Yes |
CommissionPerLotRT | Round-trip fee per 1.0 lot (account currency). Enabled when “Yes.” |
SpreadCoverPips | Pips equivalent to spread to clear before profit-taking settlement (0 to turn off) |
Target files: Gold Canon Signals v1.08
Semi-automatic EA: Semi Linked v1.02 can still be used as is (no replacement needed)
3. How it behaves (image)
It works for profits-side settlements such as trailing, recovery, and BB climax. Profit-side settlement.
No-fee + smaller spread cover … a setting that makes near-entry settlements easier to tolerate
With fees + amount input, or larger spread cover … aware of that cost, it is easier to push the profit signal back
On the other hand, stop loss and weekend settlements are not covered by the protection rules. Protect what you protect, and extend where you extend.
If you run the semi-automatic EA in RUN ON, settlements link to the signal settlement (×). As the settlement position on the signal side shifts backward, the semi-automatic settlement timing follows accordingly.
4. Guidance for settings
This is just a starting point. Optimal values vary by broker, account currency, and market conditions.
SpreadCoverPips
In this tool 1 pip = 10 points.
If the spread is 15 points, a rough guide is 1.5.
If you want a margin, start around 1.5–2.0.No external fees
FeeMode = off. Commission is not used. With external fees
FeeMode = on.
In account currency, enter the round-trip amount for 1.0 lot.
If a JPY-denominated account, for example: if the published round-trip is 495 JPY per lot, enter 495.
If denominated in USD, enter the round-trip in dollars (e.g., 7 dollars for a round-trip).
The most reliable method is to check the actual fee charged in MT5's trade history and convert it to a round-trip per 1.0 lot, then input it.
5. Replacement procedure (for purchasers)
Place the distributed GoldCanon_Signals_Fast (v1.08) into the designated folder
Compile in MetaEditor (F7)
Detach the old chart signals and reattach the new Signals
Set FeeMode / fees / SpreadCoverPips to match your account
If using semi-automatic, attach the same chart with Semi Linked v1.02 and align the Mode
When viewing the statistics panel, you can specify the start and end with DATE_RANGE to extract only the period you want.
6. In closing
v1.08 reflects not only the visible pips, but also the costs by account type on the profit side to make it easier to reflect in signals.
Settings are not universal. Spreads fluctuate, and the panel is approximate. First, try values close to your account type, and compare with real operation to adjust.
