【8/20 USD/JPY Scalp Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 158.55. This morning it started around 158.10, but during the Tokyo session it rose back from yesterday's New York session decline, showing a slight dollar-buying and yen-selling trend.
Last night in New York, the U.S. Treasury announced an expansion of the cap for outright purchases of government bonds. As a result, U.S. bond yields fell sharply, prompting dollar selling and a drop to around 158.00. Today is a rebound from that level. I think the upside for USD/JPY has become noticeably heavier because of that.
USD/JPY is likely to rise about 45 pips from the morning level as we transition to the overseas session.
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 16:00
● Movements after the release of “US Initial Jobless Claims” and the “Philadelphia Fed Index” at 21:30
● Movements near the New York market open around 22:00 (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the release of the “Leading Economic Index” at 23:00

Other notes…
・Be cautious of headlines regarding U.S.-Japan coordinated intervention
・Be cautious of headlines related to Middle East developments

Tonight's “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements around market opens, plus the post-21:30 and post-23:00 releases. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” handling according to the theory should be fine.
Also, for the short-only “15-minute Scalping,” prices are heavier on the upside due to last night’s U.S. Treasury announcement, so it may be worth aiming for opportunities. The setup point would be waiting for a slight pullback to around 159.0 to be able to sell.
Now, overseas time is about to start!
Scalping tends to be thought as having small profit margins with 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce trading difficulty.
The timeframes I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
Vola and opportunities are also high immediately after U.S. data/events releases. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so always enter after they return to normal spreads.
Please always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. data/events releases. If you go against it, you’ll be unable to help it. You can be taken to your stop-loss in an instant. Carelessness is not acceptable, absolutely.
U.S. indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of various brokers and FX providers.
Of course, there are other points besides these three, but I’ve talked about the essential points you should grasp when scalping USD/JPY.

Actually, one of my trading methods, “15-minute Scalping,” is fully free to the public. I hope it can be of some help, at least a little. (Completely free, you know.)
