[8/11 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points]
Good work, everyone! Let’s go with dollar/yen scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of Tokyo time today.
Currently, the dollar/yen is around 159.20. This morning, it started around 159.25, but during Tokyo time it moved with no clear direction within a range of about 30 pips.
With expectations for the Straits of Hormuz to be freed fading, dollar buying demand is revived, and yen depreciation has progressed to the low-159s, right?
It has regained more than half of the decline after the U.S.-Japan coordinated intervention, so a follow-up injection could come at any time. It’s still desirable to prevent a rebound to the 160s, I think.
Also, with CPI in the U.S. tomorrow, there isn’t an atmosphere to aggressively buy higher, so there is a possibility of selling for position adjustment.
The dollar/yen is likely to hand over to overseas time near the morning level.
Now, the points for tonight’s dollar/yen scalping.
● Movements around 16:00 London market open
● Movements around 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the U.S. existing home sales release

Other notes…
・Be cautious of headlines related to U.S.-Japan coordinated intervention
・Be cautious of headlines related to Middle East developments

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” should focus on movements around each market’s open; although not highly anticipated, the moves after the 23:00 release of the U.S. existing home sales could be the target. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling it according to theory should be fine. If there is further intervention, I would like to ride that move as well. (Wishful thinking…)
Also, the short-only “15-minute chart scalping” is becoming heavy on the upside due to potential follow-up intervention, so trying it is worth considering. The entry point would be after a bit of a pullback, able to sell around the mid-159s. Of course, I’d like to prevent a rebound to the 160s…
Now, overseas time will begin soon!
Because scalping profits are small, it may seem like there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time I aim for is around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 during U.S. daylight time / 17:00 during U.S. standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 during U.S. daylight time / 23:00 during U.S. standard time)
Volatility increases and opportunities arise immediately after U.S. indicators/events are released. However, in the minutes just after the release, the spread can widen, so the rule is to trade after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check the U.S. indicators/event schedule in advance. By knowing when opportunities come, you can efficiently accumulate profits.
Also, positioning right before U.S. indicators/events should be avoided at all costs. If you move against it, you can’t even see the losses coming. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely.
You can check the U.S. indicators/event schedule on the websites of each securities/FX broker.
Of course, there are many other points besides the three above, but I’ve discussed the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping the dollar/yen.
