【8/5 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Alright, let's do Dollar/Yen scalping again tonight!
First, here is today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently, the Dollar/Yen is around 157.60. This morning it started around 157.75, but during Tokyo time it was slightly heavy on the upside and moved with no clear direction around the mid-157s. As of now, it has rebounded more than 2 yen from the low around 155.20 due to U.S.-Japan coordinated intervention, suggesting that follow-up intervention is being anticipated.
Also, with optimism that the Middle East conflict might end today due to a possible agreement between the U.S. and Iran, there may be a reversal of safe-haven dollar buying.
The Dollar/Yen seems likely to hand off to overseas time around the same levels as in the morning.
Today, the focus is on when follow-up intervention will occur; I definitely want to ride the momentum if it happens. Monitoring should be a bit longer!
Now, the points for tonight's Dollar/Yen scalping.
● Movements near the London market open around 16:00
● Movements after the U.S. ADP employment data release at 21:15
● Movements near the New York market open around 22:00 (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the U.S. ISM non-manufacturing index release at 23:00

Other notes…
・Be aware of headlines related to U.S.-Japan coordinated intervention
・Be aware of headlines related to Middle East developments

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements around market opens, plus the moves after the 21:15 U.S. ADP employment data release and the 23:00 U.S. ISM non-manufacturing index release. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” follow the theory and you should be fine. Also, definitely want to ride the follow-up intervention momentum…
Additionally, the “15-minute scalping” for shorts is weighed down by optimism for the Middle East conflict ending and potential follow-up interventions, so it might be worth attempting. The setup would be when a bit of a pullback occurs and you can sell above the mid-157 range.
Now, the overseas session is about to start!
Because scalping profits per trade are small, people often think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly lower the difficulty of trading.
The time I target is around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open times (16:00 US daylight time / 17:00 US standard time)
・New York market open times (22:00 US daylight time / 23:00 US standard time)
There is also high volatility and many opportunities immediately after U.S. indicators and events are released. However, in the few minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to normal spreads.
Always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing the time windows when opportunities will arise helps you build profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before U.S. indicators or events. If you move against the trend, you won’t be able to recover. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
U.S. indicators and event schedules can be checked on each brokerage or FX provider’s website.
Of course, there are many other points besides these three, but I’ve explained the minimum key points you should keep in mind when scalping the dollar/yen.
