【7/28】"Do not pounce on the collapsed form."
When you see such a sharp drop, you can't help but want to trade against the trend, right? I used to get burned by doing that many times in the past.
Today I’ll organize things to avoid that.
Today's Market Situation
Today’s GOLD is trading around $4,045. It has fallen from near the previous day's high of around $4,116 and also broke below the previous day’s low near $4,065, continuing to move lower. Looking at the 1-hour EMA (moving average), the arrangement of the short-, mid-, and long-term averages is not orderly; it does not fit a typical rising or falling sequence. The RSI (an indicator of overbought/oversold) is around 31 on the 1-hour chart and around 25 on the 15-minute chart, indicating a heavily sold short-term level. In short, the downward momentum is strong, but the line arrangement has not yet been clarified in this market.

Today I think it’s better not to decide on a direction. If the EMA arrangement cleanly forms in the pattern “20 < 75 < 200,” I intend to strengthen a bearish bias. Conversely, if the 1-hour EMA20 (around $4,072) clearly breaks above and stays there, I will change my view to point to a bottoming signal.
In the past, I would see RSI at a low level and decide “it’s oversold, so it will rebound,” going for a contrarian trade, only to be carried lower. Now I’ve decided to hold off on judgments until the line arrangement settles.
Today's Reference Line
Today’s view is not settled, so I will skip calculating reference entries. I will provide further judgment criteria once the EMA arrangement is clarified and the direction becomes clear.
