【7/24 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is the Tokyo session overview for today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 163.85. The pair started this morning around 163.80, but during the Tokyo session it maintained the high zone from last night’s overseas session and moved within a range.
With the U.S. attacking Iran for 13 consecutive days, and the possibility of expanded conflict by the weekend, as well as the ECB sounding hawkish toward a September rate hike, which feeds expectations for another Fed rate hike in September, the dollar-buying and yen-selling trend seems unlikely to stop. Next week, there are voices saying it could reach 165…
If you’re scalping USD/JPY, I think it’s fine to pick up spikes with long positions as they sharply drop, but we’re reaching a level where serious intervention fears are rising. It’s the weekend, so don’t push it too hard….
USD/JPY is likely to hand over to overseas time almost at the morning level.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around the London market open at 16:00
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the release of the US Manufacturing PMI/Non-Manufacturing PMI at 22:45
● Movements after the release of US new home sales at 23:00

Other notes…
・Be careful of headlines related to Middle East tensions
・Be careful of headlines related to government and BOJ intervention

Tonight’s "1-minute chart scalping" will target movements around each market open, plus the moves after the 22:45 US PMI/Non-Manufacturing PMI and 23:00 US New Home Sales releases. For users of the "1-minute scalping club," handling as per theory should be fine.
Also, for the short-only "15-minute scalping," with intervention fears rising near 164 and potential weekend-driven selling, it’s worth considering. The entry should be when the level is above the mid-163s.
Now, overseas market hours are about to begin!
Because the profit per scalp is small, scalping often seems to have 24-hour opportunities, but that isn’t the case. By aiming for periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce trading difficulty.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open times (16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open times (22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
After US releases or events, volatility remains high and opportunities are plentiful. However, in the few minutes after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to enter only after they return to normal spreads.
Always check the US indicators and event schedules beforehand. Knowing when opportunities will arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before US indicators/events. If you move against you, it can be devastating. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX broker.
Of course there are other points beyond the three above, but I’ve explained the essential points you should know when scalping USD/JPY.
