Triple threat: IT, MBA, and management consulting
| First off, pretty mermaid’s titles are amazing. You work at an IT-related company, you have an MBA, and you also run a management consulting firm, right? |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| I work in IT during the day, and I also do management consulting, leveraging that experience and what I learned in my MBA. Markets, management, and IT all share the same feel: look at the data, form hypotheses, and iterate. That mindset is the same. |
| Oh, that way of thinking is really cool. Data, hypothesis, improvement. That thinking is built into mermaid too, isn’t it? |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| Yes. Rather than “it kind of looks like it’ll go up or down,” I want to make it as reproducible as possible. Precisely because there are no absolutes in the market, I value organizing the decision-making inputs. |
Weekend talk: Reading the “waves” in both the ocean and the market
| I’ve heard you keep very busy with play as well. And last week you went to Bali—plus you even went surfing? |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| Yes. The sea was beautiful—I surfed from the morning and enjoyed great drinks at night. It was perfect. But even when I’m traveling, I still end up looking at charts. When I look at charts while watching the ocean, I can stay calm for some reason. |
| The ocean and charts—that’s quite a combo. In terms of reading waves, surfing and the market are the same, right? |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| People say that a lot. It’s also similar in that if you fight the wave, you’ll wipe out (laughs). So in the market too, I think it’s important not to force yourself to go against it. |
With ample capital, you can stay calm
| You started with profits from Bitcoin, then went on to make profits in stocks as well, right? If you have ample capital, it seems like you can trade more calmly. |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| Exactly. I think the most dangerous thing in the market is impatience. When the urge to win is too strong, you can’t see the signals or the rules. That’s why capital management that doesn’t push too hard is extremely important. |
| Do you personally use the mermaid-dedicated EA? |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| I love watching charts, so I actually don’t use the EA—I look at the screen myself. I often enter according to mermaid’s signals, but for exits I judge on my own by looking at the current market momentum and chart patterns. |
Easy decisions by simply following the arrow signals
| One of mermaid’s appeals is its clarity—you can use it just by following the arrow signals. |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| Yes. Even those who aren’t used to chart analysis can easily see entry candidates by checking where the signal appears. Of course, it doesn’t mean you should enter on every signal—it's important to also consider time of day, market conditions, and capital management. |
| That’s crucial. Signals are a strong ally, but there are no absolutes in the market. |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| Exactly. In past testing, mermaid achieved results aiming for roughly 75% predictive accuracy. However, this does not guarantee future performance. That’s why it’s important to use it while following the rules. |
Viewer bonus: Use the pips calculator to gauge P/L
| And now for the viewer bonus we mentioned at the beginning. Viewers of this video will receive a 2-week trial of the pips calculator. |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| With a pips calculator, it’s easier to confirm before entry “how much profit or loss this price range would mean.” It builds a habit of checking risk numerically, not just looking at mermaid’s signals. |
| Check the signals, confirm pips, consider your lot size. That’s a very important pre-trade routine. How do viewers receive it? |
| Sekine |
| pretty mermaid |
| Please check the video description or the product page for how to receive it and usage conditions. Use mermaid to gauge direction, and the pips calculator to gauge P/L sense. Using them together should make it easier to stay calm and make decisions. |
