If you’re considering an “AI-powered EA,” please check one thing before buying. Whether the supported platform is MT4 or MT5.

To state the facts. ONNX is the industry-standard file format for storing and running AI models, andMT5 officially supports it. MT4 does not have this capability.

I’m not saying all MT4 AI-powered products are fake. Technically, there are methods to embed trained computations directly into code. However, what matters to you as a buyer is not the truth itself but whether you can verify it. For MT5 + ONNX products, you have the tangible evidence of a model file, and you can inspect its inner structure with Netron, a free tool (as discussed in a previous article). MT4 has no such verification method. You’re left to rely on the claim that “it’s AI.”

To restate: MT5 AI products can show their contents. MT4 AI products cannot provide a mechanism to reveal them, regardless of the seller’s honesty. This stems from platform specifications.
