[7/20 USD/JPY Scalping Points]
Good job everyone! Let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the Tokyo session overview for today.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 162.35. This morning it started around 162.40, and during the Tokyo session, due to worsening Middle East tensions, it rose briefly to around 162.60, but after safe-haven buying subsided, it fell back to the morning level and has since been moving with little movement.
Today the Tokyo market is closed, so once buying and selling cycles completed, the market became range-bound, didn’t it...
We’re hoping for a trigger to move, but at this level there’s probably no intervention, which is troublesome. Oh, there is a city legend-level rumor about USD/JPY intervention on “Marine Day.” Just a rumor, though.
USD/JPY is likely to hand over to overseas trading around the morning level.
Now, the USD/JPY scalping points for tonight.
• Movement around 16:00 London market open
• Movement around 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
• Movement after the release of the “U.S. Leading Economic Indicators” at 23:00
———
Other notes…
・Be mindful of headlines related to U.S. rate hikes
・Be mindful of headlines related to Middle East tensions
・Be mindful of headlines related to government and BOJ intervention

Tonight’s “1-minute scalping” focuses not only on moves around each market open but also, perhaps less attention, but the moves after the 23:00 release of the U.S. Leading Economic Indicators could be the targets. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handling according to theory should be fine.
Also, the “15-minute scalping” aimed at short positions only has no material to aggressively push USD/JPY higher, so aiming near the recent range upper bound could be option. The entry point would be when you can sell around the 162 mid-figure level.
And now the overseas session is about to start!
Because scalping profits are small, people mistakenly think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting times with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time frames I target are around the London open and around the New York open.
・London open time (14:00- US daylight time / 15:00- US standard time)
・New York open time (22:00- US daylight time / 23:00- US standard time)
After U.S. indicators and events are released, volatility remains high and opportunities arise. However, in the minutes immediately after the release, spreads can widen, so always enter after the spread returns to normal as a rule.
Always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance on the websites of brokerages and FX providers. Knowing the times when opportunities come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before U.S. indicators/events. If you move against it, you can’t even see a recovery. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
U.S. indicators and events schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities company and FX broker.
Of course, there are many other points as well, but I’ve discussed the essential points you should grasp when scalping USD/JPY.
Additionally…
Actually… I’m completely freely sharing one of my trading methods, the “15-minute scalping.” I hope it helps a little. (Completely free, you know.)
