What was bigger than profits was
the time and investment spent searching for the “real thing.”

I am

In Episode 5,
I learned about backtesting,
and even after creating the rules,

I couldn't control my emotions,
and I broke my own rules many times.

Even so, little by little,
the days I won compared to before
increased.

There were times when funds increased too.

However, when I later looked back,
there was something strange.

Even though I should have been winning,
almost no money remained.

1. As winning days Increased, my mood also grew

The more days I could win,
I thought I could increase it again.

I learned backtesting,
and with more basis than before,
I could trade more confidently.

Not every time.

I can't say it was stable.

Still, compared with the days when I started trading with no understanding at all,
there were days I won,


and periods when funds increased.

Then I began to think,

“If I increased before,

If I could increase once,
I could increase next time as well.

Even if I used a little,
I could regain it.

That thinking
began to distort my sense of money
little by little.

Experiencing wins gives confidence.

However, if that confidence lacks a basis,
it becomes an excuse to spend money.

2. Cars, watches, brand-name goods,
meals, entertainment

When profit appeared,
I rewarded myself for all the effort.

When I made a profit,
I spent money on various things.

Cars.

Watches.

Brand-name goods.

Food and drink.

And entertainment.

Because I had worked hard,
it was okay to spend a little.

I thought I could make it back in the market again.

I believed that.

Of course,
spending money itself isn’t bad.

The problem was not spending a portion of profits, but

spending under the assumption that profits would continue.
There are months you win, and months you lose.


And yet I
adjusted my life and desires based only on the amount I won.

If you treat temporary profits as if they were a constant monthly income,
the money will not remain.


The power to generate profits and the power to protect profits are separate things.

3. The biggest spend on money was not on entertainment,
but something else

Because I wanted to win seriously,
I spent an immeasurable amount of money.

However,
the biggest money I spent was not on a car,

not on a watch,
not on brand-name goods.
