[Jul 14] Tonight's USD/JPY scalping points and methods free公開中

【7/14 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good job everyone! Now, let’s go with USD/JPY scalping for tonight as well!
First, a summary of the Tokyo session today.
Currently USD/JPY is around 162.30. This morning it started near 162.40, but during the Tokyo session it moved modestly with a slight yen buying trend following Minister Katayama’s remarks about GPIF.
Oil prices briefly surpassed the $80 level, but there didn’t appear to be much USD buying. Tonight at 21:30 Japan time, the U.S. Consumer Price Index will be released, and at 23:00, Chairman Powell's congressional testimony is scheduled, so active buying and selling seems to be restrained.
USD/JPY is likely to hand over to the overseas session at roughly the same level as in the morning.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Around 16:00, London market open movements
● Movements after the 21:30 U.S. CPI release
● Around the 22:00 New York market open movements (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the 23:00 Powell's congressional testimony
——
Other notes…
・Be mindful of headlines related to BOJ forex intervention and rate hikes
・Be mindful of headlines related to U.S. rate hikes
——
Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target movements around each market open in addition to the 21:30 CPI release and 23:00 Powell testimony. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handle as per theory and you’ll be fine.
Also, the short-only “15-minute scalping” is leaning a bit toward yen buying in response to Katayama’s remarks about GPIF, so trying a pullback sell might be an option. The entry point would be around the 162 mid level for a sell setup, but since CPI is at 21:30 Japan time tonight, the plan is to flat out positions before then.
With that, overseas trading will begin shortly!
Scalping tends to seem like it has little profit per trade, so one might think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open times (UTC: 16:00 in US daylight saving; 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open times (UTC: 22:00 in US daylight saving; 23:00 in US standard time)
Volatility remains high and opportunities abound immediately after U.S. indicators/events are announced. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after spreads return to normal.
Always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance on broker or FX provider websites. Knowing the times when opportunities will come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators/events. If you move against the trend, it can be disastrous. Don’t make careless mistakes, absolutely not.
U.S. indicator/event schedules can be checked on the websites of each securities company and FX broker.
Of course there are many other points beyond the three above, but I’ve discussed the essential points to keep in mind when scalping the dollar/yen.
