【7/9 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 162.45. This morning USD/JPY started around 162.50, but during the Tokyo session, due to the uncertainty in the U.S.-Iran situation, there was a flow of “safe-haven dollar buying.” However, President Trump’s remark that the clash would end soon caused a slight retreat in dollar buying. The overseas session has seen oil prices trim their gains.
Last night’s FOMC minutes were within expectations, so market reaction was limited, but they did not significantly reduce expectations for rate hikes, so USD/JPY remains a buy-on-dips perspective. It seems there hasn’t been government/BOJ intervention yet, but as we approach the 163 yen level, vigilance will rise considerably, so please avoid stalemate… If they’re going to act, it would be easier for us if they do it sooner.
USD/JPY is likely to hand over to outside-hours around the morning levels.
Now, tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around 16:00 London market open
● Movements after the 21:30 release of the “U.S. Initial Jobless Claims”
● Movements around the 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the 23:00 release of the “U.S. Existing Home Sales”
—–
Other notes…
・Important statements may occur during trades (22:00 U.S. Williams: Federal Reserve Bank of New York President)
・Be mindful of headlines related to BOJ intervention and rate hikes
・Be mindful of headlines related to U.S. rate hikes

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will focus on movements around each market open, with relatively weaker attention, but the moves after the 21:30 “U.S. Initial Jobless Claims” and 23:00 “U.S. Existing Home Sales” releases could be targets. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” follow the theory and you should be fine. With the dollar/yen view still upward, you can look to buy on dips as prices spike and then pull back, taking small long positions. Also there is a bit of anticipation for the move after the 22:00 Williams speech in New York market open.
Additionally, the short-only “15-minute scalping” is not worth forcing positions tonight, given last night’s FOMC minutes were as expected and the Iran situation remains uncertain. Tonight I plan to stay solidly with the “1-minute scalping.”
And now the overseas session will start soon!
Scalping tends to be thought of as having small profit margins with 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I target are around the London market open and the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 during U.S. daylight time / 17:00 during U.S. standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 during U.S. daylight time / 23:00 during U.S. standard time)
Even immediately after U.S. data/events, volatility increases and opportunities are abundant. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads may widen, so always enter after returning to normal spreads.
Please always check the U.S. data/event schedule in advance on the websites of each brokerage/FX provider. Knowing when opportunities will arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning just before U.S. data/events. If you go against the trend, you’ll be in trouble in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
U.S. data/event schedules can be checked on the websites of each broker/FX provider.
Of course there are many other points besides these three, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
Also…
In fact… I have completely公開 one of my trading methods, the “15-minute chart scalping,” for free. I hope it can be of some help (completely free).
