【7/3 Dollar/Yen Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Now let's do Dollar/Yen scalping again tonight!
First, the overview of Tokyo time for today.
The current USD/JPY is around 160.85. This morning the pair started around 161.10, but during Tokyo time, expectations for a U.S. rate hike faded and, due to caution about possible FX intervention by the government and the Bank of Japan, it moved with a heavier ceiling and showed a trend of yen buying and dollar selling.
Today, tomorrow is the U.S. Independence Day holiday (observed), so U.S. markets are closed; liquidity is thin, and there are views that FX intervention may occur, so the upside for USD/JPY seems to be restrained.
USD/JPY is expected to drop about 25 pips from this morning’s levels as it transitions to the overseas session.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movement around the London market open near 16:00

Other notes ..
・U.S. markets are closed
・Be attentive to headlines related to BoJ FX intervention
・Be attentive to headlines related to U.S. rate hikes

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” is difficult to target since the New York market is closed. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” don’t push it too hard; after around the London market open there may be little movement, and it may be fine to rest if there isn’t significant activity.
Also, for the short-only “15-minute chart scalping,” with expectations of U.S. rate hikes fading and intervention cautions, there could be opportunities for dollar selling. If there’s a slight pullback and you can sell around the 161-yen mid level, we will enter the position.
Thank you, and please take care tonight as well!
Because scalping profits are small, it’s easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time frames I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 in U.S. daylight time / 17:00 in U.S. standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 in U.S. daylight time / 23:00 in U.S. standard time)
After U.S. indicators/events are announced, volatility increases and opportunities arise. However, in the minutes immediately after the announcement, spreads can widen, so always enter after returning to the regular spread.
Always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance on the websites of each securities company or FX broker. Knowing when opportunities come around helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators/events announcements. If price goes against you, you could hit the loss limit instantly. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
The U.S. indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities company or FX broker.
Of course, there are other points as well, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
