[Buddha×FX] Do not turn the market into a casino! The trap of "Tabasco addiction" that losing traders fall into?️
Hello! I’m Oukanoakari (All-Mround)✨
Even though I’m glued to the charts every day, somehow my account balance never increases... I’m determined that “this time for sure!” but before I know it I’m stuck enduring unrealized losses without cutting them.
Haven’t you had that kind of experience?
Actually, I used to be a trader whose “perfectionism” caused my cuts to be delayed.
“It should rebound here” “My analysis can’t be wrong”
Holding onto past analyses like that only widened the wounds and led to self-loathing… it was a endless cycle.
But the other day I watched a YouTube video (an explanation of ‘If Buddha were the president of a company about to go under’) and it struck me like lightning⚡️
“Ah, the reason I couldn’t win in FX has already been answered by Buddha 2,500 years ago…!”
Today, I’ll share Buddha’s wisdom learned from business and management, and apply it to FX trading.
Reading this should make your “posi-posi disease” and “mind-blow” fade away smoothly?
? 1. Before fund management, align your own state
There’s a business rule called the order of optimization and maximization. The lesson is: if the foundation on the ground isn’t ready, expanding the business (maximization) will cause the organization to collapse.
In FX terms, this is exactly the same as trying to maximize with leverage before thorough mind-rule optimization, which leads to self-destruction.
When you’re not winning, don’t you try to raise lots and quickly recoup?
In the video it’s said, “When the mind is unstable, it’s useless to pray with the heart. Align the body first.” When you’re heated in trading, first lift your hands off the mouse, straighten your back, and take several deep breaths ????♂️
With just this, you can view yourself objectively and prevent bugs in lot management in advance.
?️ 2. The trap of turning FX into a casino: “Tabasco dependence”
The talk about the four fuels that make humans happy was also painful for traders to hear.
Many people become dependent on the strong stimuli of profits—achievement (dopamine) and exhilaration (endorphins)—that is, “Tabasco.”
Treating FX like a casino and needing to always hold a position to feel settled—“posi-posi disease.” That’s exactly evidence that the brain has become dependent by swallowing Tabasco whole.
To survive long in the market, your physical and mental health and your sense of calm (serotonin) must be the base, otherwise you’ll fail.
That’s why I’ve made “the overwhelming power to wait” my greatest strength. Rather than seeking stimulation (entries), until your iron-clad pattern comes, you stay in a state of nothingness and “just wait.”
This is the strongest capital management and the only path to small losses and big gains ????✨
⏳ 3. Obsession with the past and the future slows down the cuts
In the video there’s a striking Buddha quote.
“Do not chase the past. Do not wish for the future. Do the thing you must do today with fervor.”
My perfectionism caused my cuts to be late precisely because I was clinging to “past losses (the fact I entered)” and wishing for “future huge profits” (the delusion that it would return to breakeven).
But in FX what we should look at is only the price action of the current 1-minute chart, right now ✨
Accept only the “now” shown by the chart in front of you, calmly cut losses, and calmly let profits run. If you just adopt the video’s recommended “five minutes of meditation a day,” your ability to focus on the here and now will grow remarkably ????♀️
? To engage with FX with integrity
I don’t want the market to become mere gambling or a casino.
FX, I believe, is a sincere business where you face your own weaknesses and polish self-discipline.
Therefore, I don’t want you to be misled by superficial “holy tool with win rate XX%!” types of things; I want to increase genuine traders who can control themselves.
I continue to share because I want to reduce, even by one person, the suffering of those who face the market seriously but don’t get rewarded like my past self did?
? Finally
From today, before opening the chart, take one deep breath. And before chasing profits like Tabasco, try to align your mind with an overwhelming wait.
Your approach to the market will dramatically change ✨
In my note, I write daily about thinking methods and practical techniques to engage with the market honestly and turn it into a life-long skill.
