Fund management isn’t something you need to overthink
If you haven't done lot sizing, you're trading, not gambling
If you’re entering with “roughly this much in lots,”
what you’re doing isn’t trading. It’s a bet.
what you’re doing isn’t trading. It’s a bet.
When you enter a trade, how do you decide the lot size?
“Always 0.1 lots,” “I’ve got more capital, so I’ll increase a bit,” “Today I’m on a roll, so go bigger”—if you decide like this, that isn’t money management. You’re taking random risks every timeand just gambling.
Lot size isn’t something you decide by feel or mood. It should be calculated from “what percentage of capital you would lose on one stop-out.” If you don’t run this calculation, your risk will be erratic and your trades will be disordered bets.
