Please absolutely quit doing such things!
I am a Candlestick FX trader.
I often receive questions like this.
"How can I avoid ranges?"
That's what it is.
First of all, I do not bother defining whether the current market is a trend or a range.
My own logic is to place trades so that I hold the same position as the market participants who are moving in the same direction.
So, whether it is a trend or a range,
or a market where they are mixed,
I just follow the crowd anyway.
And even if we were to define now whether the market is a trend or a range,
that does not guarantee that it continues in future markets.
For example, please look at the chart below.
Assuming you are viewing it in real time,
and you are at the far right position now.
Is the market at this moment a range market?
The pink line marks areas where many chartists would draw lines,
drawn somewhat arbitrarily.
The line itself has no intrinsic meaning.
Would you judge this as a range and refrain from trading?
Would you use a range-dominant logic?
So what happened after that?
It rose sharply.
The chart we just looked at merely showed that the past market was a range,
and
whether a range will continue in the future is another matter.
Then it began to look like an uptrend.
Should I use a trend-following method next?
Oh dear, then it dropped sharply.
If you thought it was an uptrend,
it fell beyond the upside move.
There is a theory in multi-time-frame analysis that you should enter in the same direction as the major move,
but looking at this, you can see it does not work at all.
Furthermore, after the decline, it became range-bound again.
From these things, what can we understand?
From past to present, defining markets as range or trend
has no meaning at all.
Even in a range market, a trend can suddenly occur,
or immediately after, the opposite trend may emerge,
and then return to a range,
so the past market flow and the future market flow do not move in tandem.
Therefore, what the current market is like is not meaningful to rigidly define.
So, regardless of the current market, I just follow the crowd.
And because of that,
there is no need to define whether it is a range or a trend now.
Is it better to avoid ranges?
The question arises because
people think ranges lead to losses.
But if you can win even in a range,
there is no need to avoid it,
and no need to define it.
Other logics lose in ranges, so you might think you must avoid ranges, but
in my logic, even in range-like markets,
you can aim for substantial profits.
Therefore, at least in my logic,
there is no need to avoid ranges,
or to define them.
Now, let’s see if profits are really being made in ranges.
Let's take a look.
This is a chart traded with“Ultra-High Win Rate FX Logic”.
Overall, there is no clear directional bias; it is a choppy market.
Usually, you wouldn't want to trade much in such a market.
However, predicting that such a market would occur in advance is impossible.
Perhaps it could have become a major trend,
and no one knows what kind of market will occur.
In the end, it turned out to be a choppy market.
And in this choppy market, if you look at the chart, you can see that you can still make a profit.
It was about a 2-hour trade,
about 150 pips of profit.
Of course, this was the result of trading mechanically according to the rules without discretion.
So, even beginners, anyone, can achieve similar profits.
And because of such a logic, we receive many happy messages.
“If you simply trade mechanically according to the rules, you can make a profit,”
they say.
Is it now a range or not?
filters to avoid,
the larger timeframe trend,
these are concerns many people have, but
these are the same as trying to predict the future with all your might.
No one can know the future by doing that.
Instead, whether it is a range or any market,
use a logic that aims for profit,
and you can profit without extra market analysis or discretionary input.
And“Ultra-High Win Rate FX Logic”is designed to be able to aim for profits in any market,
with the goal of achieving stable performance.
Therefore, especially for beginners or those who have not yet profited from FX,
