【6/12 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good work everyone! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently USD/JPY is around 160.30. This morning it started around 159.90, but during Tokyo time last night in New York time, the dollar was bought back as expectations for a peace deal between the U.S. and Iran were priced in.
Given that expectations for an U.S.-Iran agreement have arisen and faded many times, the market this time also seems to be mindful of how Iran will respond. The “safe-haven dollar rally” is being unwound, resulting in a back-and-forth movement.
USD/JPY appears set to rise about 40 pips from the morning level as we move into overseas hours.
Trump has stated there could be an agreement by the weekend, so there may be position-adjustment selling driven by weekend factors. Maybe, but.
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around the London market open at 16:00
● Movements around the New York market open at 22:00 (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the release of the U.S. University of Michigan Consumer Confidence Index at 23:00

Other notes..
・Be mindful of headlines related to U.S.-Iran
・Be mindful of headlines related to Bank of Japan currency intervention

Tonight's “1-minute scalping” will target moves around each market open, plus the movement after the 23:00 U.S. Michigan Confidence Index release. For users of the “1-minute Scalping Club,” following the standard approach should be fine.
Also, the “15-minute scalping” aimed at short positions only, in light of President Trump’s weekend remarks about a possible Iran agreement, could be used to anticipate weekend risk-driven dollar selling. The setup would be favorable if you can sell above around 160 yen.
With that, overseas time is about to begin!
Because scalping aims for small profit margins, it is easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. Targeting periods with higher volatility can substantially reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London open time (UTC during US daylight time 16:00~ / US standard time 17:00~)
・New York open time (UTC during US daylight time 22:00~ / US standard time 23:00~)
Even immediately after U.S. data/events are released, volatility can rise and provide opportunities. However, in the minutes immediately after the release, spreads can widen, so always enter after spreads revert to normal.
Always check the U.S. data/event schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities will arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before U.S. data/events. If you go against the trend, you will suffer. A careless mistake is unacceptable, absolutely.
U.S. data/event schedules can be checked on the websites of各証券会社・FX brokers. (Note: "各証券会社・FX業者" means each securities/FX broker.)
Of course, there are many other points, but I have explained the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
