In MT4, SMC entries become "arrows" — a self-made signal indicator "SMC-Signal" that scores five reasons
“SMC studied it. But in the end, where should I enter?”
If you’re just starting to learn Smart Money Concept (SMC), I think you’ll hit a wall at least once. I did too.
- Order Block and FVG can be drawn on the chart. But I can’t decide the one entry move
- BOS・CHoCH・Liquidity Sweep… the rationale increases, but it’s exhausting to verify everything by hand each time
- While you’re hesitating, you miss a prime entry point
In this article, I’ll introduce the MT4 indicator I created called “SMC-Signal” to solve these problems. It automatically displays buy/sell arrow signals at points where SMC rationales converge.
For readers of Investing Navi+, and traders who actually use MT4, I think this will resonate.
What is SMC-Signal
Put simply, it is a signaling indicator that tells you entry candidates with arrows based on SMC thinking.
Previously I released an indicator called “SMC-Radar” that automatically drew OBs, FVGs, BOS/CHoCH, etc. It was useful, but I received feedback like:
“Drawing is convenient. But deciding where to enter remains difficult.”
That was exactly what I felt. So I created SMC-Signal to help with the next step after drawing—the actual entry decision itself.
There are five main points. First, I’ll start with the core.
Core: “Confluence Score” that stacks five evidences
This is the heart of SMC-Signal. When it emits a single signal, it automatically scores how many of the following five evidences are stacking up.
- Order Block … price is within a valid OB zone
- Fair Value Gap … price is within an FVG
- Premium / Discount … buy in the undervalued zone, sell in the overvalued zone
- Liquidity Sweep … a liquidity grab (false breakout) occurred just before
- Higher-timeframe trend … aligned with the direction of the higher timeframe
The more the evidences overlap, the higher the score (maximum 5). It will display only signals that meet or exceed the set score with arrows. Next to each arrow, the score is shown, so you can instantly see which are “2 evidences” or “4 evidences” converging—the strength at a glance.
You can filter out weak noise yourself. It’s subtle, but this is where it becomes most useful.
Breakout and retest entries both supported
Entry style varies by trader. SMC-Signal detects both:
- Breakout … ride the moment it breaks BOS/CHoCH
- Retest … after a break, look for the pullback and rebound
You can switch between “breakout only,” “retail only,” or “both,” so you can tailor it to your method.
That concludes the “concept” portion of SMC-Signal.
The rest explains the other features that actually come into play when you use it.
- Automatically draw TP/SL (with RR)
- Higher-timeframe filter to exclude counter-trend
- A dashboard that shows situation at a glance
- Alerts to avoid missing opportunities
And, frankly verifying the most common concern with signal tools—whether repainting really doesn’t occur—along with details on system requirements and how to obtain it. I’ll cover all of that.
The rest is free. If you’d like, please keep reading.
