Trade Introduction Learned from Sunzi’s Art of War
― The Chapter on Attacking with Schemes ―
Fight only in markets where you can win
“To win a hundred battles is not the mark of the truly strong”
The truly strong avoid danger in battle itself and win.
“The truly strong avoid dangerous battles and win.”
Introduction
Why do beginners trade wastefully?
Beginners are
- opening charts leads to entries
- snapping in with a small movement
- holding a position because they have time
- touching the market even with weak justification
They repeat these actions.
But Sunzi said
“The best victory is to win without fighting”
In trading terms,
“Do nothing in a market where you cannot win.”
Actually,
“No-position” is also a valid strategy.
Chapter 1
The strongest strategy is to wait
Beginners believe
“The more trades, the more money”
But reality is the opposite.
Those who win
- do not waste shots
- can wait
- are selective
- enter only in favorable moments
These are the characteristics.
Most markets are “subtle”
The market is not always full of opportunities.
In reality,
- range without direction
- waiting for indicators
- lots of false signals
- low volatility
- whipsaw moves
These periods are longer.
In other words
“Not doing anything is profitable”
If you avoid unnecessary entries,
- you don’t pay spreads
- you don’t incur losses
- you protect your mental state
This alone greatly improves a beginner’s results.
