[5/21 USD/JPY Scalping Points]
Thank you for your hard work! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight as well!
First, here is today's Tokyo session overview.
The USD/JPY is around the 159.05 level. This morning it started around 158.85, but during Tokyo time it’s in a wait-and-see mood while awaiting the U.S. response to a new proposal aimed at halting hostilities and toward the easing of the Hormuz Strait, as the U.S. considers Iran. Slightly more dollar-buying pressure perhaps.
USD/JPY remains stuck near the psychological level around 159 yen. From the morning levels, up about 20 pips, it seems to be handing over to the overseas session.
Tonight also smells like low volatility, but what do you think? Bring on the news!
Now, the points for USD/JPY scalping tonight.
● Movements around the London market open
● Movements after the 21:30 release of U.S. Initial Jobless Claims, U.S. Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook Index, and U.S. Housing Starts
● Movements around the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the 22:45 release of U.S. Manufacturing PMI

Other notes…
・Be mindful of headlines related to U.S.–Iran
・Be mindful of headlines related to BOJ currency intervention

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will focus on movements around market openings plus after the 21:30 U.S. data releases and after the 22:45 PMI release. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling as per the theory should be fine.
Also, the “15-minute scalping” for short-term specialists is in a wait-and-see mood due to U.S.–Iran negotiations in the final stages, so there’s no need to force positions. Tonight I plan to focus firmly on “1-minute scalping.”
Now, overseas time will start shortly!
Scalping tends to be thought of as having small profit targets, implying 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time I target is around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 US Summer Time / 17:00 US Winter Time)
・New York market open time (22:00 US Summer Time / 23:00 US Winter Time)
Even immediately after U.S. indicators/events, volatility increases and opportunities are abundant. However, in the first few minutes after the release, the spread may widen, so always enter after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule beforehand. Knowing the times when opportunities will come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators/events. If you go against the trend, you’re doomed. You can be wiped out to your stop loss in an instant. Carelessness is not acceptable, absolutely not.
U.S. indicators/events schedules can be checked on the websites of each brokerage/FX provider.
Of course there are other points besides these three, but I’ve talked about the minimum key points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
