【5/11 Dollar/Yen Scalp Points】
Good work everyone! Let's go ahead with dollar/yen scalping again tonight!
First, today's Tokyo time overview.
Currently, the USD/JPY is around 157.10. This morning it started around 156.55, but during Tokyo time, after the memorandum toward an end to the US-Iran conflict failed to reach an agreement between the two countries, oil rose again, which seems to be a factor driving USD buying and JPY selling.
Around 12:00 Japan time it rose to around 157.15, which is today's Asian high. From the morning level, about a 55-pip rise is expected to carry over to the overseas session.
However, even from 157, there is strong vigilance over forex intervention by the government and the Bank of Japan, so the upside in USD/JPY seems to be limited.
Now, the points for tonight's USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the release of the U.S. existing home sales

Other notes ..
・U.S. Vice President Yap Asset? (Note: likely means U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen) visiting Japan (11th-13th)
・Be mindful of headlines related to U.S.-Iran situation
・Be mindful of headlines related to BoJ intervention

Tonight's "1-minute scalp" will aim at movements around market opens plus the 23:00 release of the U.S. existing home sales. For users of the "1-minute scalp club," handling according to theory should be fine.
Also, the "15-minute scalp" which is focused on the downside, since around 157 there is strong intervention vigilance and upside is heavy, could be worth trying. The entry point would be after a small pullback to the mid-157 level, where selling could occur, perhaps.
Now, soon the overseas session will begin!
Scalping tends to be thought of as having small target profit per trade and thus plenty of 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly lower the difficulty of trading.
The time I target is around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 during U.S. daylight saving / 17:00 during U.S. standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 during U.S. daylight saving / 23:00 during U.S. standard time)
There is high volatility and many opportunities right after U.S. indicators and events are announced. However, in the minutes immediately after the release, the spread may widen, so the rule is to trade only after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance. Understanding when opportunities will come can help you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before U.S. indicators or events. If the market moves against you, you can’t see your way out. You could be stopped out in an instant. Carelessness is not acceptable, absolutely not.
The U.S. indicators and events schedule can be checked on the websites of each brokerage or FX firm.
Of course there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve spoken about the essentials you should grasp when scalping USD/JPY.
