[5/1] Tonight's USD/JPY scalping points and methods free release
This is Tomizaki from Trading Office.
【5/1 USD/JPY Scalp Points】
Good job, everyone! Let’s go with USDJPY scalping again tonight!
First, an overview of Tokyo time today.
Currently USDJPY is around 157.10. The pair started this morning around 156.50, but in Tokyo time it was in a slight yen-softening trend due to last night’s FX intervention rebound after a sharp drop.
There is movement attempting a rebound, but with Minister of Finance Shunichi Ninomiya’s comment that “the long holiday is still in its early stage, please recognize that,” coupled with vigilance for additional intervention, the upside looks likely to stay constrained.
From the morning levels, it seems to be about a 60-pip rise as it hands over to overseas trading.
Now, the points for tonight’s USDJPY scalping.
● Movements near the London market open at around 16:00
● Movements after the 23:00 release of the ISM Manufacturing PMI (US)
—–
Other notes ..
・Be cautious of headlines related to US-Iran tensions
・Be cautious of headlines related to BoJ forex intervention
—–
Tonight’s “1-minute Scalping” will likely target movements near market opens plus the post-23:00 ISM PMI release. For users of the “1-Minute Scalping Club,” handling according to theory should be fine.
Also, the “15-minute Scalping” for shorts is seeing weightier upside due to Ninomiya’s statements hinting at intervention; however, the market is trying to rebound, so there’s no need to force positions. Tonight I’ll focus safely on “1-minute scalping.”
With that, overseas time is about to start!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, one might think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By aiming at higher-volatility periods, you can significantly lower the difficulty of trading.
The time I’m targeting is around the London Open and around the New York Open.
・London Open time (DST 16:00 / Standard Time 17:00)
・New York Open time (DST 22:00 / Standard Time 23:00)
Volatility and opportunities are high immediately after U.S. indicators/events. However, the spread can widen in the first few minutes after the release, so the rule is to enter only after it returns to the normal spread.
Always check the U.S. indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities come allows you to build profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning right before U.S. indicators/events. If you go against them, you’ll be dramatically hurt. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
U.S. indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of each brokerage/FX provider.
Of course, there are other points as well, but I’ve explained the essential points to keep in mind when scalping USDJPY.
