MMA Weekly Report Nikkei Average Stock Price By Raymond Merriman Apr.27 2026
1. Review
Last week, the Nikkei Stock Average closed at 59,716, up 1,241 points from the previous week. The week's low was 58,621 on the 23rd (Thursday), and the week's high was 60,013 on the 23rd (Thursday). The week's range oscillated between the weekly support line and the weekly resistance line, so it was neutral; however, the bullish streak remains in progress. In fact, the closing price exceeded the Weekly Trend Indicator Point (TIP) for three consecutive weeks, and also marked a new all-time high. Therefore, the underlying trend has been upgraded from “nearing an uptrend” to “uptrend.”
2. Cycles
As previously stated, in “Forecast 2026” we changed the long-term market cycle duration of the Nikkei Stock Average from 17 years to 19 years. However, the starting point of October 28, 2008, at 6,994 remains unchanged. Therefore, where this 19-year cycle bottoms, or whether it has not yet bottomed, will be a focal point for 2026.
