[4/24 USD/JPY Scalping Points]
Good work, everyone! Let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, the overview during Tokyo hours today.
Currently USD/JPY is around 159.70. This morning it started around 159.60, but during Tokyo hours, due to uncertainties surrounding the US-Iran situation, safe-haven dollar buying has been slightly stronger. However, there may be further discussions toward the weekend, so moving above 160 is something to approach cautiously.
It seems we will hand over to overseas hours at roughly the same level as this morning.
European and London participants are selling, but they’re waiting for headlines related to the US-Iran situation, so moves may be limited. We want volatility…
Now, the USD/JPY scalping points for tonight.
● Movements around the London market open (~16:00)
● Movements around the New York market open (~22:00) (Dow opens at 22:30)
● Movements after the University of Michigan Consumer Confidence Index release at 23:00
—–
Other notes…
・Be mindful of headlines related to the US-Iran situation
・Be mindful of headlines related to BOJ currency intervention

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will focus on moves around each market open and the movement after the 23:00 Michigan confidence release. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” follow the theory and you should be fine. Also tonight the market will remain sensitive to headlines about the US-Iran situation.
Additionally, the “15-minute chart scalping” for short selling only tends to be cautious while waiting for headlines about the US-Iran situation, but there is a high possibility of selling pressure due to weekend position adjustments, so there is value in trying it. The entry point would be around mid-159 yen if it can set up for a sale.
With that, thank you again for tonight!
Scalping has small profit targets, which may lead to thinking there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. By targeting periods with reasonably high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time frames I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (UTC-4: 16:00 in US daylight time / UTC-5: 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open time (UTC-4: 22:00 in US daylight time / UTC-5: 23:00 in US standard time)
Even immediately after US indicators/events, volatility remains high and opportunities arise. However, in the few minutes right after the release, spreads may widen, so the rule is to enter only after they revert to normal spreads.
Please always check the US indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before US indicators/events. If you go against the trend, you’ll be in trouble in an instant and you’ll hit your stop-loss. Careless mistakes are unacceptable; absolutely.
The US indicators/events schedule can be checked on each brokerage or FX firm’s website.
Of course there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve talked about the minimum points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
