【4/22 USD/JPY Scalping Points】
Good job today! Alright, let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, today's Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 159.20. This morning it started near 159.30, but during the Tokyo session there were headlines such as “signs that the United States will lift the Strait of Hormuz blockage” and “if lifted, talks are expected to be held in Islamabad,” which led to a slight dollar-selling tendency.
However, there is still uncertainty, and the moves are limited with a cautious mood. It seems likely to pass the baton to the overseas session around the morning level.
Today as well, we’re waiting for headlines related to the US-Iran situation...
Now, here are the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around the 16:00 London market open
● Movements around the 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)
—–
Other notes...
・Be cautious of headlines related to the US-Iran situation
・Be cautious of headlines related to BOJ FX intervention

Tonight’s "1-minute chart scalping" has limited opportunities since there are no major US indicators or events scheduled, so the key moves will likely occur around market openings. For users of the "1-minute scalping club," handling it according to theory should be fine. Tonight, headlines related to US-Iran developments are likely the main driver.
Also, for the short-only “15-minute scalping,” risk-averse dollar buying has cooled due to the extension of the US-Iran ceasefire, making it a potential target again. The setup would be favorable if you can sell near the mid-159 level, perhaps.
With that, overseas time is about to begin!
Scalping tends to be thought of as having small profit margins, so one might assume there are 24-hour opportunities, but that is not the case. Focusing on periods with higher volatility can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time frames I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (in US daylight time 16:00– / in US standard time 17:00–)
・New York market open time (in US daylight time 22:00– / in US standard time 23:00–)
After US indicators/events are announced, volatility remains high and opportunities abound. However, in the few minutes right after the announcements, spreads may widen, so always enter after spreads return to normal levels.
Always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities will come helps accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning right before US indicator/event releases. If you go against the trend, you could be wiped out in an instant. Careless mistakes are unacceptable, absolutely.
The US indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of each securities firm or FX broker.
Of course, there are many other points as well, but I’ve talked about the essential points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
