【4/16 USD/JPY scalping points】
Thank you for your hard work! Now let's do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, a brief overview of Tokyo time for today.
Currently USD/JPY is around 158.80. This morning USD/JPY started around 159.00, but during Tokyo time it was waiting for headlines regarding the U.S.-Iran peace talks, and tended to slip modestly with a slight dollar selling pressure.
When the 158.50 level was breached, stops were triggered and around 12:00 Japan time it quickly fell to around 158.25 (today’s Asia-low). However, the rebound was fast, and it looks like it will hand over to overseas time near the morning level.
Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.
● Movements around 16:00 London market open
● Movements after the 21:30 U.S. nonfarm payrolls release
● Movements around the 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes…
・During trading, important statements may occur (21:35 “William: President of the New York Fed’s remarks”; 23:35 “Remarks by a member of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board of Governors”)
・Be cautious of headlines related to U.S.-Iran tensions
・Be cautious of headlines related to BOJ foreign exchange intervention

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will likely target moves around each market opening plus the move after the 21:30 U.S. nonfarm payrolls release. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” handling according to theory should be fine. Tonight, the main driver of market movement will be headlines related to U.S.-Iran tensions.
Also, the short-only “15-minute scalping” does not have market upside pressure to buy; technically, selling on pullbacks could be considered. The entry point would be when a setup forms to sell around the 159 yen level.
With that, overseas trading time is about to start!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, one might think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The times I target are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London market open time (16:00 US DST / 17:00 US standard time)
・New York market open time (22:00 US DST / 23:00 US standard time)
Even immediately after U.S. indicators or events, volatility rises and opportunities are plentiful. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads can widen, so always enter after spreads return to normal levels.
Please always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before U.S. indicators or events. If you go against it, you’ll be wiped out in an instant. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely not.
U.S. indicators and events schedules can be checked on the websites of each securities or FX broker.
Of course, there are other points besides the three above, but I’ve explained the minimum points you should grasp when scalping USD/JPY.
