【4/8 USD/JPY Scalping Points】

Thank you for your hard work! Let’s go with USD/JPY scalping again tonight!

First, a summary of the Tokyo session today.

Currently USD/JPY is around 158.10 (new low being made). This morning USD/JPY started around 159.60, but during the Tokyo session, with the U.S. and Iran agreeing to a two-week ceasefire, there has been a broad dollar sell-off as a reversal of safe-haven buying, and it’s heading into a dollar-soft environment. European players seem to be digging the lower levels further.

From the morning level, about a 1.50 yen decline is expected to carry over to overseas trading.

But it remains a temporary ceasefire, and the U.S. says, “Reports that we accepted Iran’s 10-point plan are incorrect; negotiations will continue,” so there are likely many who are lurking to take advantage of buying opportunities.

Now, the points for tonight’s USD/JPY scalping.

● Movement near the 16:00 London market open

● Movement near the 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

● Movement after 27:00 “FOMC minutes release”

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will target moves around market opens plus the moves after 27:00 “FOMC minutes release.” For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” processing according to the standard should be fine. Tonight as well, watch for headlines related to Middle East tensions. Also, since the U.S. FOMC is late at night, be awake if possible.

Also, the “15-minute chart scalping,” which is solely short-term, may have opportunities as the U.S.-Iran two-week ceasefire reduces safe-haven buying pressure on the dollar. If there’s a slight pullback and you can sell around the 158 mid-level, you’ll enter. It seems the tasty parts in Tokyo may mostly be over….

Well then, overseas trading is about to start!
