Don't miss a trend reversal. A full-fledged super trend indicator with high configurability.
Recently releasedBollinger Super Trendhas been well received. It was an original variant based on Bollinger Bands, but we received requests like, “We want to use the original Super Trend as well,” so this timeSuper Trendis being released.
The original Super Trend is simple but highly refined, a standard indicator used by traders around the world. It’s a must-try for those who want to grasp the trend direction at a glance or are unsure about entry timing.
Super Trend is an indicator that teaches you the direction of the trend and the timing of reversals by drawing a single line on the chart. It calculates a band based on ATR (average true range) and determines that a trend has reversed when the price breaks the band.
If Bollinger Super Trend is the Bollinger Band-based variant, this version uses ATR as-isoriginal calculation methodIt moves in a simpler and more straightforward manner, making it recommended for first-time users of Super Trend.
The mechanism is simple:
By looking at the chart alone, you can intuitively tell whether it’s a buying or selling opportunity. Even if your chart is cluttered with many indicators, this displays cleanly and is recommended.
Use the moment when the arrows appear as a guide for entries—the simplest method. Buy when a blue upward arrow appears and sell when a red downward arrow appears.
However, no indicator is 100% accurate. Combining with other indicators to filter signals can improve accuracy.
For example, if the 1-hour chart shows an uptrend, look for refined entry timing on 5-minute or 15-minute charts. The workflow “confirm on higher time frame → enter on lower time frame” is a common practice among many traders.
Since you can display the same indicator on multiple timeframes, this approach pairs very well with it.
While holding a position, use the Super Trend line as a guide for your stop loss. In an uptrend, the line steps up, so a rule like “close below the line at a close wins” lets you extend profits while lifting the exit level.
Unlike automatic trailing stops, this is flexible because you can decide manually.
Super Trend itself is simple, but this version includes robust customization options to improve usability.
Super Trend is an indicator that is “simple to use yet deep.” Beginners should start with the default settings to identify trend direction, and as you gain experience, customize settings to find your own way of using it.
Please try displaying it on your chart and see how it moves.
