【3/23 Dollar-Yen Scalp Points】
Good work today! Let’s do Dollar-Yen scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently, the USD/JPY is around 159.55. This morning it started around 159.25, but during the Tokyo session the buying of dollars and selling of yen were slightly favored.
headlines suggesting President Trump’s potential attack on an Iranian power plant, while Iran warned of closing the Strait of Hormuz, seem to be the factors.
From the early levels, about 30 pips higher, it looks set to hand over to the overseas session.
This week also seems likely to move on headlines related to Middle East tensions. Also, previously there was a large reversal selling at around 159.80, so will we see a touch of 160 this time..?
Now, here are tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements around 16:00 London market open
● Movements around 22:00 New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes..
・Be cautious about headlines related to Middle East tensions
・Be cautious about headlines related to BOJ currency intervention

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” will focus on movements around market opens since there are no US indicators or events scheduled and no particular material for the market. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” follow the theory and you’ll be fine. Also, headlines related to Middle East tensions should be watched tonight as well.
Additionally, the “15-minute scalping” with a focus on shorts tends to see dollar buying and yen selling due to Middle East concerns, so don’t push it too hard. It’s the start of the week, after all. Tonight I’d like to concentrate on “1-minute scalping.”
With that, overseas time is about to start!
Scalping targets small profit margins, so it’s easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By targeting periods with relatively high volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time periods I’m aiming for are around the London market open and around the New York market open.
・London open time (16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York open time (22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
Right after the release of US indicators/events, volatility increases and opportunities abound. However, in the minutes right after the release, spreads can widen, so the rule is to enter only after the spreads return to normal.
Always check the US indicators/events schedule in advance. Knowing when opportunities will arise helps you accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, avoid positioning immediately before US indicators/events. If you go against the trend, losses can be sudden. Careless mistakes are not acceptable, absolutely.
US indicators/events schedules can be checked on each broker’s website, etc.
Of course there are many other points, but here I’ve explained the minimal points you should keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
