[What should we move first?] How to think about parameter adjustment to find the main battleground with Prime ACE
Good morning.
I am Trader A (Ace), the developer of the "Prime ACE Strategy."
In the previous article,
Prime ACE first looks at the panel
"Where to fight" = a tool to find the main battlefield
I wrote about that.
However, what comes next is
"So, how should we move things?"
This question, I think,.
This time, I will simply summarize the approach
to parameter adjustment
in a straightforward way.
First of all,
do not touch all parameters from the start.
Prime ACE has many items, but
if you start tweaking everything in detail from the beginning,
it becomes hard to tell what change caused which movement in the numbers.
That’s why I
start by
touching the areas with the greatest impact in order to find the main battlefield
first.
What you want to see first is the narrowing of how arrows appear.
For example,
TrendLevel (Trend Strength Filter),
NextArrowRestriction (Maximum number of bars before the next arrow),
MACrossArrowRestriction (Maximum number of arrows after a MA cross)
.
These areas directly relate to
"how strict you want to display arrows"
,
so the panel values are easy to move.
Next, what you want to see isthe panel aggregation period and trading time restrictions.
Additionally, the TakeProfit_ATR (take profit width [ATR multiplier])
,
StopLoss_ATR (stop loss width [ATR multiplier])
are also important.
What’s crucial here is
not changing many things at once.
If you change one thing,
check how win rate, PF, net profit, and maximum drawdown move.
Based on that change,
decide what to touch next.
With this repetition,
it becomes easier to see the main battlefield that suits you.
And here lies Prime ACE’s big strength:
you can see changes in numbers on the panel and gauge your probability of success instantly without running backtests each time.
And once the main battlefield becomes visible,
the EA side uses the presets as a base and aligns with the indicator.
This is simple.
In other words, Prime ACE is
not a tool that jumps straight to arrows,
first finds the main battlefield with parameters and panels,
then narrows it with discretion,
and finally refines it with the EA
.
As an entry point this time,
"do not touch everything from the start"
"move one item at a time from the items with the greatest impact"
"compare the odds on the panel without running backtests"
"align the EA with indicators based on presets"
I have summarized these ideas.
