【3/20 Dollar-Yen Scalping Points】
Thank you for your hard work! Okay, let’s do Dollar-Yen scalping again tonight!
First, from today’s Tokyo session overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 158.35. This morning it started around 157.65, but during Tokyo time it recovered from the low area as a reaction to last night’s large USD selling adjustments.
Today is a holiday, so Japan is closed, and liquidity is low, but it seems to have moved back smoothly. From the morning level it has risen about 70 pips and is likely to hand off to the overseas session.
From last night’s decline, there is a sense that the upside has become heavy around the mid-158s, and it seems overseas players might push selling on rallies after this... what do you think? For now, it seems safe to release the caution about FX intervention for the moment.
Now, the points for overnight USD/JPY scalping.
● Movement near the London market open at 16:00
● Movement near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes…
・Be mindful of headlines related to Middle East tensions

Tonight’s “1-minute chart scalping” has no major US indicators or events scheduled, so there isn’t any particular market driver. The target will likely be moves around each market open. For users of the “1-minute chart scalping club,” if you handle as per theory, there should be no problem. Also, be cautious of headlines related to Middle East tensions tonight.
Additionally, the short-only “15-minute chart scalping” is showing heavy upside pressure due to last night’s large USD selling adjustments, so attempting a pullback-selling move could be worth it. The trigger would be when it can sell around the mid-158 level.
Next, the overseas session is about to begin!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, it is easy to think there’s always a 24-hour window of opportunity, but that’s not the case. By aiming for periods with relatively higher volatility, you can significantly reduce the difficulty of trading.
The timeframes I’m targeting are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open time (U.S. daylight time 16:00 / U.S. standard time 17:00)
・New York market open time (U.S. daylight time 22:00 / U.S. standard time 23:00)
Even immediately after U.S. indicators or events are released, volatility increases and opportunities abound. However, in the first few minutes after the release, the spread can widen, so it’s essential to enter only after it returns to the normal spread.
Please always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance on the websites of each brokerage or FX provider. Knowing the times when opportunities will come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, positioning right before the release of U.S. indicators and events should be avoided at all costs. If you go against the trend, it can be devastating. A careless mistake is unacceptable, absolutely.
The U.S. indicators and events schedule can be checked on each securities company or FX broker’s website.
Of course, there are many other points beyond these three, but I’ve spoken about the essential points you should at least keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
