[3/9 USD/JPY Scalping Points]
Good work everyone! Let’s do USD/JPY scalping again tonight!
First, here is today’s Tokyo-time overview.
Currently, USD/JPY is around 158.70. This morning it started around 158.05, and during Tokyo hours, the Middle East situation has intensified following the weekend, boosting safe-haven dollar buying.
Before 13:00 Japan time it rose to around 158.90, but as it neared 159, there was some concern about FX intervention, so from the morning level it rose about 65 pips and is likely to hand over to overseas time with a bit of intervention caution.
Iran’s Supreme Leader-in-waiting, Ayatollah Khamenei, is viewed as hard-line, so it seems it will take time to settle…
Now, the tonight’s USD/JPY scalping points.
● Movements near the London market open
● Movements near the New York market open (Dow opens at 22:30)

Other notes…
・Be wary of headlines related to Middle East affairs
・From the 159 level, be aware of headlines related to Bank of Japan intervention

For this evening’s “1-minute chart scalping,” there are no US indicators or events scheduled, so there’s no particular fundamental driver; the key will be movements around market opens. For users of the “1-minute scalping club,” as long as you handle it per theory, there should be no problems. Also, headlines related to Middle East affairs require caution today as well.
Also, the “15-minute chart scalping” for shorts, due to intensified Middle East tensions, tends to attract safe-haven dollar buying, so don’t push it too hard. Tonight I’d like to focus on “1-minute scalping.”
Well then, overseas time will start shortly!
Because scalping targets small profit margins, it’s easy to think there are 24-hour opportunities, but that’s not the case. By aiming for times with relatively high volatility, you can substantially reduce the difficulty of trading.
The time windows I target are near the London market open and near the New York market open.
・London market open times (16:00 in US daylight time / 17:00 in US standard time)
・New York market open times (22:00 in US daylight time / 23:00 in US standard time)
Volatility remains high and opportunities abound immediately after U.S. indicators/events are released. However, in the first few minutes after the release, spreads may widen, so always enter after they return to normal spreads—that’s the rule.
Please always check the U.S. indicators and events schedule in advance. Knowing the times when opportunities will come allows you to accumulate profits efficiently.
Also, absolutely avoid positioning immediately before U.S. indicators/events. If you go against it, you’ll be hit hard. You can be taken to your stop-loss line in an instant. Careless mistakes are not allowed, absolutely.
The U.S. indicators/events schedule can be checked on the websites of each brokerage and FX provider.
Of course, there are many other points beyond these three, but I’ve talked about the minimum points to keep in mind when scalping USD/JPY.
